Anyone get stuck on there?

Took me 11 hours to do a 4 hour journey today. Think I travelled 8 miles in 5 hours. Must be horrible for old people, parents with young children and anyone with a disability. I’m a fighting fit piss head and struggled.

Mad how much chaos closing a section of a motorway does.

Good thread. Would read again.

Was there a manhunt on? Some maniac with a shed in the badlands? SWAT teams going car to car to check?

The M6 is a disgusting piece of road. Full stop. Doesn't matter which part of it, something will go tits up.

I'm probably being harsh, most problems seem to come from accidents. Which there seem to be ever more of lately. Driving standards really seem to be going downhill.

A tanker hit the central reservation at 7am today.

Was a tanker full of milk. Took them till 6pm to clear it up and open it.

Everyone fuming online at lancs police and NW highways. Then everyone replying saying no point crying over spilled milk hahaha.

They where getting everyone off onto the m55 which then was gridlocked. As people where waiting for hours and hours they started taking kids for a piss on the hard shoulder. Then all the tits started having enough and speeding down the hard shoulder. Can’t believe nobody was killed.

There are a lot of shockingly bad drivers on the road now.. most of the time they're on their phones. Or they go by the rule of, me first and balls to everyone else..
 
Don’t quite know what to add to this.

I wasn’t involved with this but I remember when 2 lorries had a head on collision on the m74 Cumberland gap on 22nd December 2004. I experienced that and it was mental. All the m6 traffic emptied into the surrounding country lanes. Absolute carnage just before Christmas. Spent ages trying to get around it all.

Great thread though.
