M6 Toll Charges...

If you're a user of the M6 Toll Road, and especially if you drive a larger 4x4/SUV like a Range Rover Sport/Vogue... as you're probably aware, you can only pay toll charges by either fuel card eg Allstar or by credit/debit car but, if you're driving a larger 4x4/SUV, you are likely to be charged the price for a van rather than a car.

Car charges are currently £8.90
Van charges are currently £13.80

Check your bank statements... and if you're using a fuel card, there's also a transaction fee of £2,50.

I said likely, not definitely.
And I know two people who have been charged the van rate in the last two weeks

I was working in Birmingham last week and totally forgot all about the M6 toll charge. Has the price risen recently? Pretty sure it was only £7.70 a few months ago. Thank god can turn tolls off on say nav(cheap skate I know) but paying £17.80 for the luxury of working staying in Birmingham and getting back to Widnes is a bit steep.

Yeah, they've steadily jacked up the cost and there's no cheap time through the night any longer... easy target motorists being ripped off yet again

I thought it was ‘dynamic pricing’ ie. cost, dependent on the volume of traffic on the normal M6
