He was absolutely hopeless at dealing with their balls into the box, was like he moving in slow-motion whenever they headed the ball back across goal. Glaring weakness his exposed in the last few weeks, is gash at dealing with crosses.

tbh the midfield is so poor that Palace had loads of time just to line up whatever cross they wanted. Not much he could do about the goal. We keep selecting slow weak midfielders and short full backs, we'll keep conceding those types off goals.

The money was there to buy a goalkeeper if he wanted one it's just Koeman didn't seem at all arsed about during the summer.

Clearly he's a decent shot stopper but he's not strong enough in the air or fast enough off his line for me. He'd make a decent back-up and that's what we all thought he was bought for.

He's a very poor keeper - we saw how soton improved once Forster came back last season

Didnt think hes done anything wrong tonight,or any game,decent signing for what was probably going to be the back up keeper,had no chance for the palace goal,and goals hes conceeded [league or cup],didnt think he had a chance on any of them [west brom/boro should have been disallowed as well for me]

yes did he have lead in his boots tonight so many times bar two stuck on his line - he made bentekes goal look like a wonder goal never moved static just a shot stopper if its near him imo!
woke up and came for two crosses after that when thomkins tried a similar looped header he was on the move, and saved it 1-1 was about right though it could have been worse!

TBF it was a clever move by Pardew Benteke was not seen in the first half he told him to go wide on Coleman in the air back post climbed all over him by the way on his jump but Steck was motionless as it was a looped cross, his position was poor he left a big target for a looping header, but our man marking let us down two Coleman v Benteke only one winner , and stek should have been in spring like action not even a dive I see your point!

I was surprised Robles did not get a game in the league cup as if he gets injured you need a keeper who can be not so stale - nothing between the pair of them imo!
Both good shot stoppers - difference is Robles can learn and get better steck is what you see!
did come out for crosses in the end but too late imo!
The damage was done with that looped header from the edge of the box!

Static should have done a lot more for the goal he's a back up keeper.

As said: Southampton's #2 is allowed to become Everton's #1 when we've been crying out for a good two seasons for a top class GK.

Some argued till they were blue in the face that this feller was good enough. I think they know now that was a massive blunder....or I would hope they do.

Not good enough. Get the chequebook out in January and do what should have been done this summer.
