Making pictures into shadows?

Want to do this for the shop.

Does anyone know how I could get Everton pictures to be like this;

Could have some 'classic' Everton pictures (like derby pile up) on items then.

You isolate the part you want and then play with the contrast in Photoshop or Fireworks.

Yes this is something i did for another site, its Manuel Fernandes celebrating his goal against Watford. This is small because it will be used as a forum icon.

Cant do that without it turning crap, have you got any decent Everton pictures you want me to turn into one? and i'll do it. Couldnt find a derby pile up without cahill's arm getting cut off.

I am not sure the boxing one will look good unless you edit the shirt on his leading arm. It would look a little weird/unnatural as a silhouette.

Will probably give the derby pile up one ago today as its better quality where nothing gets cut off then will try a cahill celebration one
