When you say fanbase, do you mean a few screeds on a forum?

Nope....

Under Kenwright I would agree and that was probably the case. You can’t feed a fan base false hope and then revert back to how it was. It can’t wash and it shouldn’t.

I wasn’t a Kenwright fan or ever will be, but obviously the odd bit of PR releases we were always told we were skint.

Slightly like Brexit and leave campaign season false claims you can’t make them and not back them up.

Hopefully we can pull something off because another season of just existing isn’t healthy.

People only will wake up once the likes of Wolves, West Ham and Southampton start off well and we bumble around. Thats when reality will hit that you cant give up 2-3 transfer windows and not expect to start falling behind. Sunderland and Villa did the same with the same cost cutting and big wage excuses and look where they are.

The fact is if you get a top manager (Klopp) you back them with money and they improve you and get you top 4 and more money.

If Moshiri has ambition and believes Silva has the potential to become a top manager then he has to back him and not expect him to turn water into wine.

Who knows maybe it is Brands and not Moshiri - Barca Apparantely are not happy with our offer for Mina, we pulled out of Tierney over a few bob so you have to question is this bloke not realising that in the big boys league you have to pay the going rate.

We will do business before the window closes.
Whether we will sign this guy is unknown. But anybody going into ‘meltdown’ over us not signing a player we may or may not even be in for are most certainly bedwetting cry-arses.

INFO GOAL - Everton has formulated a € 35 million offer to the Girondins de Bordeaux to buy the Malcom contract.

After two years spent in Gironde, the talented Malcom has never been so close to packing his bags to start a new adventure.
According to Goal's information , Everton's interest in the Brazilian is very real. The Premier League team made a € 35 million offer to the Girondins de Bordeaux (+ € 5m bonus) to hire the former Corinthians player. The Mersey club has prepared a five-year deal for the striker, with a weekly pay of 80,000 pounds - almost 90,000 euros a week.
The track of Inter has cooled
This proposal now puts Everton in a favorable position to attract the Brazilian, whose performance has not left insensitive other European teams. But the competition does not offer the guarantees expected by the Girondins. Inter Milan, in particular, was still one of the plausible destinations for Malcom a little over a week ago. But this track has cooled considerably, the negotiations remaining in stand-by for eight days after an offer deemed unsafe enough by the management of the club Aquitaine.
The Inter proposed a much more complex editing, with a first payment of € 8M for an automatic loan, then a mandatory purchase option of € 30M the following year to reach an overall amount higher than the offer of Everton without his bonuses. But this hypothesis does not seduce the Girondins in the current context, which is that of a period of redemption for the club.
Wanting to release resources quickly enough, the Bordeaux decision makers intend to optimize the sale of the Brazilian, who has the largest market value of the workforce. And this strategy is as valid for the transfer indemnity as for its timing.

All indications are that Malcom will set sail for England. Before Everton, Fulham had shown a keen interest in the southpaw, but the London club should not take action.

With 12 goals and 7 assists in 35 appearances last season, Malcolm was one of the most decisive players in Ligue 1. His exceptional ball striking and percussive qualities have made the strong link Girondins de Bordeaux, in the heart of a very uneven season.

I started the thread in the hope that someone would tell me who he is.

He's a very promising, quick, skilful young forward. Capable of playing on either flank, although better on the right cutting in on his left foot.

Good crosser, decent passer, but his main threat is is his pace and direct driving with the ball, plus short, sharp passing into the forwards.

He'd be an excellent signing and a real coup if we are in for him and did manage to get him in.

You’ve not read any of that have you? Hahaha

Have a day off mate, Brands knows what he's doing, far more than a few no marks on the interwebs

Im not saying he isnt experienced he certainly knows his role well - however he has spent the majority of his time as a DOF in a league where signings go for a relative pittance. He also was at one of the biggest clubs in the league where he could play hard ball knowing targets would be pushing for a move to PSV than some smaller side like ultrecht or whoever.

Now at EFC he's dealing with deals worth massively more than what he's ever dealt with alongside being at a club where targets will not be desperate/kick up a fuss to join - Tierney wont down tools and demand to leave and make Celtic cave to our demands like he would if Man Utd were in for him for example.

Its the exact same as a cheque book manager who's managed PSG, REAL and Man City suddenly having to work at a club like Bury, Burnley, Swindon - regardless of the quality of the manager and his tactics he would be completely out of his depth when having to work with a tiny budget in comparison to what he is normally used to when able to bring in the best players.
