Can someone please tell me why Leon Osman is starting a game for Everton against a team who hasn't been outside the Top 2 in 4 years?

Absolutely woeful selection.

As for Howard, Martinez just showed the rest of the squad that no matter how good you play, he will pick his favourites.

You lot, mostly, won't get it, but I can see why Osman starts...he will do 45 and Peinaar will take over the left mid role for the second half. They can both play to instructions and can hold the ball up and will act as our 'out ball' ..this makes sense if we play with a back three.With Baines playing more forward, Martinez has loaded the left side, this will give Del more space wide right. Got it?Tonight is all part of getting to a final...replay team will be different, in a couple of personal and tactically.

so if osman doesn't come off for pienaar at half time, its you that doesn't 'get it'

Osman couldn't hold up a clothesline.

If that the plan then why not use pienarr for the first 60 mins (he won't make a sub at half time) and then bring on Kev or vice versa.

Another Mirallas obsessive. Osman did well in a similar role when he came on in the Cup.
