And if you don't he'll just put it in while you stand there like a mug.

Trust me, as a forward I much prefer keepers who stand there waiting to dive than those who force you into making a decision. And Howard's gone to ground because he thinks Van Persie's about to shoot anyway. It's like a penalty in that situation, got to just hope for the best.

Howard's got no chance if he just stands there, but if he goes to ground there's a chance he'll nip the ball away, a chance that Van Persie will play the ball straight at his outstretched body, a chance that Van Persie will overhit his touch and be forced to stretch while hitting his shot. Plus in this situation I think he's just literally fell over because he's on his toes about to spread himself.

Basically he had no chance and anyone blaming Howard in any capacity needs to step away from the crack pipe.

Great post Azzurri. I know you're not a fan, so this is wonderfully balanced. And right.

Take that Wynalda!

How a full back ever manages to find himself behind the centre halfs when the team is obviously set up to play offside is beyond me. Easiest thing in the game, stay high and blame them in the middle if it goes wrong

Compensate for his complete lack of any pace.

Perfectly worded.

As a striker I enjoy seeing Gks fall on their arses and leaving me an empty goal.

Maybe he should have stayed on his feet and done a few starjumps.

ok, stay at 1 up front and accept we've lost and look after our goal difference, OK that's a good losing mentality to have in our team

Jelavic coming on we will still be 1 up front because he is invisible. But thanks to that logic we will be weak in a different area.

I got neg rep'd to death last week "questioning" Jealvic. Oh look Moyes put splinters his arse so clearly thought the same as me, did anyone neg rep Moyes, or throw eggs at his house or something...
