i dont think theyll risk an appeal because stevie g will get a longer ban, as it will appear frivolous to appeal such an awful tackleWatching the replay on FSC tonight and just showed the tackle. Pretty bad and Carrick's lucky he wasn't seriously hurt. They can appeal it but that one won't be overturned.
Shocking challenge by Gerrard yesterday. I don't like it when two feet go in and the player pulls the angry "i'm gonna stamp on you" face. Bad stuff from a good footballer.
I'm glad he got sent off for that challenge, as it sets a standard for referees with regards to 'big name' players. People seemed to be shocked "oh my...Gerrard has been sent off", I personally think any one of the 22 on the field should of been sent off if they commited such a bad tackle. All players should be treated equally.
So nice to see a bit of rough justice.
No idea what possessed him to go in so aggressively on Carrick though.
I think the one Rafael did (fairly) on Meireles not long before, dude
There is sometimes a line on what's fair and what's a red card. Rafaels looked like it could be nasty, but I think it was spot on. Fellaini makes me have a heart attack every time he gets a 50/50
definate red for me. cant do that in this day and age. he'd done it and got away with worse many times before
