Managers within our reach

Any Manager is within our reach if the money is right and if we stop acting like an amateur mediocre'r'us club. Sick of us appointing no marks that have never won anything of note. Club need to stop messing around and go for Managers that have been genuine winners at a high level. We could have got a top one with the amount of money we have threw down the plughole divorcing tossers and saved us all a couple of years of frustration and embarrassment.

Bit left field but is Gordon Lee still around? If he has learned the lessons from 1977-78 what a manager he could be.
Still alive I think , must be in his eighties now.
I used to slate him at the time , but in truth his side was far better than anything I’ve seen since Kendall mk1.
Sorry Gordon!

I agree with previous posters in this thread. ANY manager will come to us if the money and the terms are good enough.
Let's not pretend that only the bright lights of London or the sophistication of Madrid and Paris will get the top men. Two or three seasons on Merseyside managing us for a huge heap of cash would appeal to most of the games top managers and coaches.
And imagine the hero worship if they deliver some silverware AND a team that are proud to wear the Royal Blue shirt.

One thing that is noticeable perusing this thread is the lack of any standout ‘unity’ manager.
It seems any manager will be given a maximum of six months to propel a club that has been mid table for 30 years, (apart from occasional flirtations with relegation), into at least a top six club. Also that no manager can garner enough support to weather any downturn in form.
It appears we have entered the cycle of fan impatience that can fuel increasingly frequent managerial change and consequent instability that invariably ends in failure and, ultimately ,relegation.
Worrying.

We're you saying that up to the derby?

What you getting at?

We have got like 1 win in 10 games or so and are still working Europa qualification. He have lost most of those 10 as well so it’s not as if we have been picking up lots of points . We struggled to beat Lincoln and were beat by Millwall. Our team can’t pasd or defend and are weak from set plays , balls over the top and our cb get split easily. We don’t create and have had the highest corner count on the league whilst also having scored the least. We are a mess and every team we play against I think to myself “ this saints, westham, Cardiff , bourenouth, palace side or whoever , are crap and still look better on the ball than us “ the prem is turning into the SPL but with 6 run away teams instead of 1 or the usual 2 they have

I'm embarrassed that anyone wants a manager brought in a few months ago sacked. It's just toe curling listening to the feet stamping expectancy.

"We're not winning our matces...wah wah wah...we're only 9th...wah wah wah....we should be higher than this...wah wah wah...."

Mate , what is it with your love of crap, stubborn managers that can’t defend?

We have no pattern of play or style , we don’t create chances , we have no options in possession, our attacker are isolated , we conceed a goal a week from corners and free kicks , we can’t keep clean sheets , we lose to lower division teams , our fans leave the ground with 20 minutes left. He has done nothing in his career to suggest this isn’t the type of manager he is and no indication that he is either willing to change or able to change it.

Take niasse for example , I knew after the first 2 games that he was crap, not the player for us, so get rid . In your world it’s bettwr to give him 1-2 years then get rid? Waste more money and time ? Silva is el fraudo Mrk2 and there is no point in keeping him. We have a DOF now , the only thing silva should be doing is coaching, he can’t even coach how to defend free kicks ffs, he should be able to get more out of players , have them fighting etc but he can’t. He’s just a crap third rate manager and keeping him on is a waste of time

I can accept is not being top 6 after 6 months , I think nearly everyone can, but disjointed , lacklustre, passionless performances. With a system that he is to stubborn to change and the inability to set up a defence both from outfield play and set pieces is something he has done his entire prem career. He had excuses at Hull and Watford that he didn’t have money, players etc but he has 6 players he has brought in , covering various positions and we still look weak, clueless, disjointed and uninterested

What we need more than anything is someone who can build a winning culture. That's what Klopp, Pep and Pochettino all did first and foremost. They built the culture and belief and worked on tactics later. Right now Silva looks barely bothered and clearly doesn't have everyone buying in. If he can get rid of people and start to turn that around then he could do well still.
