Nah, they'll swallow it for as long as they swallow the propaganda about being "big". That stadium is "big" - so it appeals to their needy sense of "bigness".

I have never met a fanbase more obsessed with being "the biggest" club in the country. When Liverpool and then we were winning all before us in the 80s, they were still massaging their bigness. Biggest crowds, biggest transfer fees, Big Ron...

Their fans will sell their souls to the red devil if it means they can continue to imagine themselves in the same ball park as Real Madrid, who they don't hold a candle to in terms of greatness.
Bigger scruffs than the rs? I imagine that some scruffs support both declaring loyalty to whoever has the upper hand.
