Delph sharing his anti-vaccine post on his Instagram account has not set well with me as it is people like him that are jeopardizing the safety of other people like my daughter that don’t have yet the opportunity to receive their jab. Even more upsetting is that he has a platform and followers that may be tempted to follow his anti-vaccine approach and because of it outbreaks could continue happening around the country and the leagues.

Just last week in Italy there was an outbreak that was linked to two players that had refused to get vaccinated. When is it time for football managers and owners to say enough of this and mandate vaccines for those working for them? I’m all for personal freedoms and the ability of people to make their own choices, except when it comes to upholding those freedoms during a worldwide pandemic that needs to be managed and eventually defeated if we really want life to return to normal.

Footballers, as with anyone, should be able to choose what they put in their bodies.

HOWEVER

Players who elect NOT to be vaccinated should be prevented from training and playing due to the risk of them causing an outbreak.
Yes would agree with this and pay suspended, it obviously won't happen as the courts will have a field day, but it wouldn't be long until they all got the jab then.

The weird thing is, i thought most of these football players would have been some of the 1st to have it - Been the Professional i am -not lol. I had both mine with the 2nd at the end of May

I'm pro-vaccine and got my second dose yesterday.

However, it is up to the individual and I would be opposed to any Government or similar mandating what people put into their bodies. Testing to show that you aren't infected for certain activities I can agree with but mandatory medical treatment...bit totalitarian for my liking.

Clubs have a choice whether to reward players with contracts come renewal time.

That’s very murky waters as they’re contractually obliged to their salary (I’d be surprised if there was anything in their contracts covering this kind of scenario) but not to be able to train/play with the rest of the team.

Had both mine cos I am at that age, but the truth is the vast majority will recover and many without knowing they have had it, so in that respect he is correct. Just don’t go visiting nanny

End of the day, you or I aren’t forced into a vaccine, so why should a player?

I chose to be vaccinated because I have elderly relatives, and come into contact with hundreds of people each week, but ultimately if I didn’t, that’s my choice.

Personally, a footballer is being paid a ridiculous amount of money, and, they’re paid to play football. Something which is preventable, if it means they’re missing games or cause mass absentees, which could cost titles or trophies, i feel they should do it, however, it’s not that simple.
People have their own beliefs, opinions and make their decisions. No one should be forced to take a vaccine or not take one, however unpopular that May be.
