Mandatory Covid Vaccines for Premier League players

Should vaccines be mandatory in the Premier and other European Leagues

For me, I don't believe in mandatory vaccination out of principle. But I struggle to see why a footballer would not want to take it.

There should be extremely stringent testing for players who are not jabbed. But that would be their choice.

Not the same is it David.

People rightly or wrongly have genuine concerns about what the jab does to their body hence they are unwilling to take it.

Again, I don't agree with all that bs as I'm double jabbed, but I don't think you can MAKE people take something of they have concerns about it.
No, you cant MAKE them. But what you can do is penalise their non-compliance.

Just as the law would take away the ability for someone to drive if they decided not to wear a seat belt as they're a danger to themselves and others around them, if people dont get the jabs they should be denied access to the thinks they like to do which brings them into contact with others trying as best they can to stay safe.

That's the social contract.

Again though Dave, it's not the same thing.

Putting a seat belt on is absolutely right, but people won't have any concerns about what putting a seat belt on would do to their body.

I’ve had my vaccines, but people shouldn’t be forced to have them.

It should be their decision. You also shouldn’t be able to stop someone from working or going to places, if they choose not to have them.

It’s madness that people even think that way.
It's not madness that people think like that, it's rational.

The irrationality belongs to those who believe they should be able to mingle amongst people they pose a threat to in their non-vaccinated state.

That you see the majority who are trying to help themselves and others by getting the jab as the problem speaks volumes for you.

End of the day, you or I aren’t forced into a vaccine, so why should a player?

I chose to be vaccinated because I have elderly relatives, and come into contact with hundreds of people each week, but ultimately if I didn’t, that’s my choice.

Personally, a footballer is being paid a ridiculous amount of money, and, they’re paid to play football. Something which is preventable, if it means they’re missing games or cause mass absentees, which could cost titles or trophies, i feel they should do it, however, it’s not that simple.
People have their own beliefs, opinions and make their decisions. No one should be forced to take a vaccine or not take one, however unpopular that May be.
No one is forcing them to be vaccinated. Just saying that they shouldn't be allowed to play if they don't.

There is no human, inalienable right to be a Premier League footballer.

Of course they would: if they dont wear seat belts they'll get mangled bodies, potentially...just as their bodies will be attacked if they dont get the jabs...for certain they will be in a worse position without a jab than with one.

It's exactly the same issue.

What these people are doing is calculating that they wont fall serioulsy ill - but if others do that's just tough.

Sorry, but there has to be sanctions against that type of appalling selfishness.

There is a high likelihood that for travel within Europe Covid vaccination will be required, barring some specific medical exclusions like allergic reaction.

Think it only a matter of time before most top clubs will mandate it for that reason alone if not for the welfare of their backroom staff.
That's Everton off the hook then.
