It really shouldn't - and I don't think it will - have worked like that Zat.

They'll have discussed targets. How it really should work is Ancelotti having had some input into a few lists already drawn up.

Regardless, we've had the time to go and get deals lined up and be ready to go.

When we have to resort to bringing on Niasse (which actually, wasn't needed, but whatever) then we know we've messed up.

I think Brands has an arrogance about him with how he deals. It works to our favour but now it's coming home to roost. This isn't Holland. If the squad isn't good enough it gets exposed.

And tbh I don't think I'll forgive him for signing Delph and both him and Silva thinking he was what was required. Absolute tosh footballer.

Sorry but I’ve stayed off his back as much as possible but his complete arrogance towards the January window angers me.

This season was salvageable a week ago but he’s done nothing to try and fix it.

We have a squad comprised of players signed by 5 managers and people were expecting a complete overhaul in 18 months? Takes a lot longer than that, especially when the bulk of the more expensive squad members weren’t even signed by Brands. This is the area that’s seriously been doing my nut in, since we’ve actually been able to spend money, fan’s brains have turned to absolute mush thinking we can just throw money away to solve problems or clear the squad of players they personally don’t like

I think we need to buy but at the same time need to offload players or the squad will be too big...

RB: Coleman, Cuco
CB: Keane
CM: Delph, Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin
RM: Walcott
CF: Niasse

I think we could do with selling every one of these players.

RB: 2 out and 1 in on loan
CB: 1 out and 1 signing
CM: 3 out and 1 signing
RM/CF: 2 out and 1 signing

Any of those would be ideal...but i do think weve got to be moving players on pronto.

Such a shame we couldnt get the 3pts last night. Not only to look good for new signings but also to leave us with only 8pts needed to hit 40 and then we could have a bit of a firesale.

If we had won last night, i doubt you would be writing this, there’s not massive issues with the squad, But it’s important areas we are lacking, a decent CB and CM would improve us massively. The squad isn’t criminally bad imo it’s half decent and 80% of the players will still be here next season, it’s just the spine of the team that needs sorting, the rest of the players will fit in and around that.

I have no faith in him being the man to turn our recruitment around.

In his 18 months here he's signed 1 top class player with about 2-3 in the inconsistent/ maybe column.
