Cringeworthy stuff. You can make anyone and anything looked good on a TV programme.

The proof is in the pudding and it has been absolute gash so far.

Bernard, Mina Richie, Andre, Kean love him because he has made them multi millionaires and feel comfortable despite non of them bar Richarlison and Mina occassionaly turning up in way games.

Ps. They all loved Silva as well.
We all loved Marco Silva, certainly I did. Mind you , I had grave reservations about his ability to manage Everton ever before he was appointed, nonetheless he seemed a thoroughly nice man and I regret he could not make a success of it.

Since the departure of MS and the arrival of Ancelotti I think we have had the second best run of results apart from the league leaders.
If the run of results could have been extended back to the start of the season or even something close to that run of results we would be sitting comfortably in the CL places at this moment.

There is no doubt that CA is a great manager but no matter how good he is it would not be possible to do as well as we have with poor players.

The truth is that the players are good enough to form the basis of a very good team for the future. The signings made by Brands and MS have in general been very good and if we were to see the best two or three I think their overall dealings would be in credit.

We all know we need some more players in the squad, we know there are areas that are weak and I am confident some or all of those problems will be sorted in the coming months.

We also need to recognise that Brands was tasked with two jobs on his arrival , not just one.
We had/have a bloated overpaid squad and he had to get some players while also trying to get others in.

I think the job he has done is remarkable so far.

Am I allowed to swear...No..I'm really trying here. Not a chance you are a Blue and I never say that about anyone.

Hard not to be enthused by the program. Everyone who works with him have good things to say about him and you can’t argue with his body of work. That said they weren’t going to interview any nay sayers really, nor were any of our players going to say anything bad about him. But I’d take it all as genuine. He’s a well liked well respected man.

I wouldn’t be one for throwing my Klein’s at him, but I’m very open minded about him, without being polarized, I think he’s done some good things and not so good things.

What I took from the program in analysis more then anything was he was a realist, time and patience and the words build. That’s a strategy I can get behind once the philosophy is clear, he let slip a few decent nuggets on strategy in my opinion.

Something else struck me listening to parts of what he did at RSC, PSV and AZ and that is the possible depleting effect of the academy ban in development and recruitment since he’s been here, I’d say it’s a massive pain to development plans.

All in all much of it was a vanity piece and that fine for context, his dad and current players were I assume wwere always going to say he was sound, but there was some nice bits on his philosohey and realism within that in terms of time, building and development. He also showed an ability to reflect and learn when things don’t work out and go again, I also like that, I think he’s still adjusting to this higher level and learning how to be competitive in a tougher league, I think he knows that himself and almost acknowledged.

Overall a lot to like and be hopeful about in the programmer once you get by the powder puff peices, key words were time, patience, build and sustainable. I can get on board with that.

Worth a look gents.
