Look at United, they were massively struggling to get Fernandes over the line because they refused to overspend, then got desperate and paid it anyway as well as go begging to China for a striker

He needs to sign players who are physically ready for this league. We have no pace and its hurting us badly.

He could far worse than prioritising 2 rapid full backs with pace and power and the engine needed for that position.

In his documentary The Architect covers how he had to mix the pot and create a new team as they were solid individuals but not the right mix for games. Hopefully he has the courage, knowledge and freedom to do that here. Too many dossers in this team who get exposed whenever there's a slight risk of achieving something.

One of the main problems is that players were bought in the summer with Silva’s favoured 4-2-3-1 system in mind. They didn’t exactly excel in the system they were bought for, now they just look like a fish out of water in a 4-4-2 favoured by Carlo.

You would have to pay big money for Richarlison because anyone can see he’s by far our best player.
Lukaku/Rooney were clearly top class and our best players and they went for top money.
Stones was a ridiculous vanity buy - he wasn’t even a regular in our team and had never shown an inkling of being a serious ‘defender’.
Likewise Rodwell. A young athlete who never held down a regular place for us yet was bought for big money.

The odd freak like Salah/De Bruyne slip through the net but this buying of castoffs from clubs we are trying to emulate needs to be seen for the flawed logic it clearly holds.
