I'm assuming if Silva is appointed before June 1st, and he should be, then Brands will not make any comment and/or be involved in any press conference alongside Silva, before he takes up his role officially.
I think the best we can hope for at this stage is that Brands is ok with the idea of Silva as coach, I can't think that if he had an open choice and time to choose a manager, he would somehow coincidentally opt for Silva himself. Obviously he may have been aware of Moshiri's intention all along in an unofficial capacity, and given it tacit approval.
The timing on this is far from ideal, but we have to work with it.
I am not against Silva, but I think it would say a lot in positive terms about Brands if he really took over this process and appointed his own manager/head coach, if it was feasible. As it is, I think Silva's appointment will be something of a fudged compromise between Brands, Moshiri, and DBB.
We really do need Brands to be the assertive and progressive individual he is reported to be though, and make the manager know that he is directly answerable to him and not Moshiri.
