Walsh came on the back of some decent signings from leicester so you can see why he was offered the job. And allardyce has a reputation for keeping clubs up, again you can see why he was signed at the time.

Brands and Silva have no pedigree what so ever.
It's like giving someone the job of being a surgeon after only completing 1 year of a medicine degree.
Brands has only been a DOF for what 12 years?

Stop WUMMING your terrible at it

I beg to differ regarding Monchi, I think the relevant experience here is carrying out this role in one of the top leagues in Europe with a proven track record. Holland isn’t a top league, Spain is.
The very same Monchi who sold Salah to the RS in the summer... good move that was

This guy, and this appointment will mean that Everton will be able to brings players here that would have been deemed just out of our reach in the past.

I think over the coming years, more English clubs will adopt the DoF approach, mainly due to the high turnover of managers.
An we never see an Allardyce/Moyes type appointment again

How many PL team have the DoF model ? Has been around for years yet not many seem to adopt it, lets hope we can be the ones to make a success of it. Yes, in the Echo they are saying he picks the manager, I thought the club hierarchy pick the manager and then DoF picks the players but times they are a changing. Some concern that he has been great (apparently, dont really know) in a weaker league so hope he steps up.

Just the teams that win the trophies

I’m hoping Brands picks the new manager and it’s common knowledge that it was his decision.

I think that gives the man some major responsibilty, and gives a bit of transparency from the club as to who is making the decisions. I think half the fan frustration is we rarely know who gets the say on what.

It’s a private company, so I do understand certain things need to stay private, but show the fans some love and respect and we’ll be happy...happier..

I'm assuming if Silva is appointed before June 1st, and he should be, then Brands will not make any comment and/or be involved in any press conference alongside Silva, before he takes up his role officially.

I think the best we can hope for at this stage is that Brands is ok with the idea of Silva as coach, I can't think that if he had an open choice and time to choose a manager, he would somehow coincidentally opt for Silva himself. Obviously he may have been aware of Moshiri's intention all along in an unofficial capacity, and given it tacit approval.

The timing on this is far from ideal, but we have to work with it.

I am not against Silva, but I think it would say a lot in positive terms about Brands if he really took over this process and appointed his own manager/head coach, if it was feasible. As it is, I think Silva's appointment will be something of a fudged compromise between Brands, Moshiri, and DBB.

We really do need Brands to be the assertive and progressive individual he is reported to be though, and make the manager know that he is directly answerable to him and not Moshiri.

He said we've been trying for 2 years now to get him (Brands himself) so I can't imagine there was no contact between the two when it became clear Brands was willing to leave PSV. I'm assuming they've been discussing things, along with who will be manager, for a long time now. But who knows ...
