I'm not speaking out against him. I'm underlining his role now the cat is out of the bag on wages/squad-size.

Reading the runes is not the same as criticism.

Reading the runes?

You have jumped on everybody desire to shed the dross from the squad and deemed it Everton cost cutting.

Your argument has no basis and I for 1 will enjoy you choking on these words.

I've merely pointed out that it's clear enough by now that he'll be carrying out a pruning of the squad size and putting a block on wage inflation. I have no problem with the former but the latter is a big ask to deploy AND stay competitive (or, rather, become more competitive than we are right now).

I hope he knows what he's doing and his mate Raiola has a big list of phone numbers chocca with South American wunderkind who'll play here for ten bob.

So again, you dont think its possible to free up the wage bill, buy better players and improve?

LOL

But the thing is, we don’t need to replace every single player we sell in order to improve. We’re paying players like Kevin Mirallas and Davy Klaassen, players that can’t even get near the match day squad, close to £200k a week between them. We could sell them both, not bring in anyone, and we aren’t any weaker whatsoever. And we’ve just freed up a wage that is enough to pay a top, top player.

Going to be so hard for him to replace - the close to 300k a week we spend on wages between Rooney and Schneiderlin - with better players.

Hes really going to struggle to get better value for money than the 800k a week we are spending on Rooney, Morgan, Williams, Mirallas, Sandro, Robles, Garbutt and Martina, let me tell you that C.

REALLY

brands will think hes won the lotto with us !

he literally has!

That's possible.

But I'd caution against how easy it will be to make significant inroads in terms of shuffling out the door high earners. The bulk of the excess in the squad aren't earning that much.

It's all way too simplistic to see this new strategy of selling high earning under-performers and replacing them with better players.

Everybody else sees "freeing up wages on dross", Dave sees "MASSIVE FIRESALE DUE TO A DESIRE TO CUT COSTS".
