Used the window right up to the last minute. Him and Silva looked to have done some superb work

It remains to be seen whether the players will fit into the system Silva wants to play. However it is like night and day compared to last summer’s transfer window. There has been a clear strategy to inject pace and youth into the side, with all our signings having their best years in front of them. Brands has nailed everyone of our targets, unlike last year’s summer transfer shambles. All and and I mean all of our signings (baring the goalkeeper from arsenal) will improve our starting 11 not just our squad. There is cause for genuine optimism however it’s just a pity these deals weren’t conducted earlier, to give the players time to adapt to silva’s ideas and settle more quickly in readiness for the new season.

Richarlison, Digne, Bernard, Gomes, Mina and Zouma

Sounds a lot better than

Keane, Vlasic, Sandro, Rooney, Klaassen.

But we were excited then.

We were buying players from Palace and Swansea for massive fees under Walsh and we now have players arriving from Barcelona. I think it’s a massive improvement.
