You think? Seriously? He's got age on his side, Van Dijk is, what 29? So in his peak. Mina is early 20's but I can't see anything to suggest he will be better or as good as the best in this league, along with Laporte.

Saying that I wouldn't have predicted it with Van Dijk, having never paid attention when he was at Celtic.

He's certainly not done anything to increase that price so I'd say you were right. On a good day we could get back what we paid. In reality someone like Stoke will probably offer around 12 million in a year and we will bite their hands off.

All im saying is lets hold off slightly on the "Marcel can do no wrong" until we can beyond doubt say he's doing/done a great job ie. After more than one transfer window.

So far I've liked how he's gone about business however this window is still young enough to go either way so lets wait and see.

He may very well turn out that way.

You don’t get signed by Barcelona by being awful. Which to be honest is where VVD will go next.
 


One thing I've learnt about foreign players coming to the Prem is not to judge the first season overly harshly, second season is a better indicator of how they've settled. So Mina, Bernard and even Digne and Gomes should all slip seemlessy into there roles and I'm sure Mina will want his injuries behind him.

Anyway, I have faith Brands will deliver what's needed.
