Not for me. Holgate is miles ahead of him now defensively. He was a walking penalty against West Ham and just couldn’t stop crosses coming in from his side at all. His use of the ball is appalling, he can’t find his man with passes and he can’t cross a ball. He used to make up for all of that by just having lightning pace but that’s gone now and we’re left with a very average defender. There can be no room for sentimentality. I love him for the player he was for us but he’s not that player now. I’d like to see a new first choice right back signed and Holgate as cover.

Is this enough though? Our right hand side with Holgate is about as creative as Pickford. At least Seamus gets over the half way and infact often to the by-line,Holgate barely ventures near the half way and his passing is atrocious. We need something in the middle

As I said, I was just having a very quick look for context. I think the numbers who've played first team games look pretty similar to me. There may be 1 or 2 who played a few minutes for us that I don't recall but looking at it it looks like about 10 players I can remember playing first team for us and about 8 for City. Another quick look suggests 7 for Liverpool this summer. I was just wondering how out of keeping those numbers would be in relation to other teams, it seems the answer might be not very.
I count 4 for City and 15 for us.

But hey ho, when people have an agenda why would they bother with facts.

Getting the players out is the easy bit; despite what some people like to pretend, they aren't that bad. Getting somebody to take a striker who's scored at a decent rate internationally and in the CL isn't the most difficult task in the world. The issue is actually getting anything for them, and he hasn't been great at that. I'm not saying it's easy or he's doing a bad job or anything, but he hasn't really pulled up any trees in terms of getting rid of the dead wood.
Name me one .just one, football club that will pay Tosun 60k a week

I genuinely hope you’re right but in my amateur football knowledge, I don’t see Brands pushing us forward, no strengthening at a time where the top 4 is open. I’m not saying do a Leeds but a CF to push DCL, a CM to replace Siggy should of been planned and brought in.
A real breakwater moment to be had

No one else doing much either
I wonder why

Id prefer Richarlison to do what he’s supposed to be doing and start scoring and creating goals. It’s not as though he hasn’t had opportunities. Iwobi has shown more than he has at times this season.

Coleman does occasionally add to the attack like at Palace, but more often than not he’s caught out of position or just baloons the cross over or gives it away. I’d much rather have a fullback who defends and can pass the ball to attacking players.

Using those names on Wikipedia I recall Feeney, Garbutt, Martina, Niasse, Schneiderlin, Dowell, Baines, Stekelenburg, Tarashaj and Sandro playing for the first team. As I said I might have forgotten someone getting a Europa League run out or something to be fair but I don't think 5 of them have. For City I make it Silva, Bravo, Sane, Garcia, Otamendi, Adarabioyo so only 6. I was counting Latibeaudiere and Diskerud on the basis I'd heard of them and assumed it was because they'd played for City but they haven't so fair enough.

I have no agenda against Brands at all. I've said before I hope he stays and I don't think he's doing a bad job. I just don't really like these posts that make out like he's working miracles for allowing people to retire or their contracts running out.

I can't, same as you can't tell me that there's nobody who would, so i'm not sure what the point of your post is really.
For a sale to happen you need 3 things to take place at the same time
The players present club wishes to sell
The buying club has to agree a fee and wages
The player has to want to move
In Tosun's case
No 1 is a yes
No 2 is a no
No 3 is unsure

City sold: Sane, Otamendi & Adarabioyo. 3 players on free transfers. Lots of players out on loan with a lot going to partner clubs under the City group.

Everton sold: Schneiderlin & Dowell. 6 players on free transfers. Few loans out.

Again i'm not sure what point you're making here? I'm not criticising Brands, I'm just not praising him either. I know some people find it difficult to comprehend but you can just think something is OK, it doesn't have to be wonderful or terrible. I'm simply making the point that finding somebody willing to take Tosun is not, in itself, particularly noteworthy. What would be noteworthy is selling him for £10m+ or getting someone to pay all his wages while he's on loan etc. I'm not saying it's easy, or he needs to be sacked for not doing it, or any of the other things that you might have mistakenly jumped to the conclusion that I meant.

Simply can’t believe he hasn’t signed anyone when pretty much no one else has. I definitely can’t see any reason why signing players might be difficult at the moment either.
