So we blame Brands for the kids in the academy before he got here and we can’t use players he’s brought in? I’m lost.

No

But we ask if there has been any improvement and if there are any players with a lot of potential in the pipeline

I dont know the answer for sure on that one but I dont see much to get excited about. Theres obviously going to be time for him to improve things but our young players look a long way off the players produced by likes of city and United.

I’ll let you know - it’s 7.

So that whole “how many kids on the bench” crap now has an answer.
Are you related to Brands?

The fella is an absolute fraud. Almost every decent signing he has made has been a manager signing and every sale has been a free transfer. The guy is an absolute pretender. Hes robbing a living.

Again, he’s been here 2 years. He can’t unearth what isn’t there and he couldn’t, until now, bring in better kids (although you’re not allowing that).

All academies have a very low hit rate.

We haven't moved forward as much as we should have given the money hes spent and the fact hes had almost 3 seasons.

I can only judge on what I see. We have progressed but only very slightly and there hasn't been any noticeable improvement in our academy production either. I think he's fortunate to be staying on, assuming the reports are correct.

I have full faith in the manager and he needs backed fully.

Academy improvement take ages to pay dividends when a transfer ban is in place. I wasn’t addressing Brands overall performance just the strange academy dig you aimed at him which had no logic to it.

The first team squad, their performance/results, and the academy production are surely the only things you can judge a DOF on?

Yeh, again, I wasn’t commenting on the rest... just the peculiar one you picked out. Not producing a Barkley in his 2 years isn’t his fault it’s just the crop of players we have. Not that they’re bad; a number of them will make it at a high level.

If you looking to blame Brands for tonight, just give up supporting Everton now.

You are the type of "fan" who looks for EVERY single mistake despite never looking at the facts. You'll never change so leave it now.

Blaming a Director of Football because he overspent on Iwobi, your a barrel scraping chimp!

Why do you think we over spent on some players? Have a guess?

We have been mainly woeful in all competitions for the last 26 years so for us to get those players to win leagues and cups we have to:
A - Match Their Ambitions
B - Spend a lot more than we did on Iwobi
C - Spend a lot more on wages than we did on Iwobi
D - We have to do A B and C for 20 or so players.

The only recent teams to do ABC and D have been Chelsea, Liverpool and City.

In the simplest of terms, we don't have the cash they have spent because we haven't be competing at a level which allows to clubs to operate.

Our revenue VS City:

Everton - £64 million
City - £750 million.

We held our own for 84 mins against a team worth 11 TIMES more than us.

If you can't accept that the better team won and move on with trying to point a finger or drag a player out, Everton isn't for you.

Who assembled the squad? Who keeps loaning players instead of selling them for cash or releasing them from contracts? We shouldn’t be in a position where, for a big cup tie, we only have 3 first team players on the bench and having to dip into the academy sides for bodies because we don’t have squad depth despite spending hundreds of millions

Take 7 senior players out of a squad and you’ll have kids on anyone’s bench.
