Then there's the fact that Mina was obviously a good signing (starting CB that contributes goals when we *had* to have the signing not bust at the time), that Kean is a perfectly fine signing that we won't lose on, and that the jury is still out on Gbamin - a signing where there was no way to predict what would happen.

If there's a complaint, it's that bricks like Iwobi and Delph have been particularly bad.

Given the constraints that he's under, he's doing well. You want to complain about wasted money and no progress, go look at Woodward's record. Lord only knows where they'd be if Fernandes hadn't been a home run.

Now account for the fact that players emerged (eg: DCL, Keane) as well as a few missing players such as Coleman, presumably due to injury. That left something like 15 buys needed when he arrived, including the better part of a starting outfield.

If Brands had plugged RB and RW, other spots would be open and you'd be complaining about them. The only way we'd have gotten from where we were to a full squad in three windows would have been if Brands had hit every signing, and no one actually does that. You want to see a bad track record, look at all the money Koeman/Walsh and Woodward flushed.

So we prioritized. Having a makeshift back line with Coleman and Holgate at RB and the ability to play Richarlison and DCL up top so we can play a midfielder on the right isn't a terrible outcome, given the starting point.

Also gylfi sigg and ademola lookman he looks pretty good now just checked he signed DCL so he was not to bad afterall

I think Brands has done a good job overall.

The squad is a lot better than it was before he joined.

The guy lives his life with phone glued to his ear trying to shift bad players, it's not easy buying and selling players if it was the league would be more competitive, as it stands a transfer is always a risk and you don't know until they've signed and bombed if it was worth it or not.

The only thing we have to beat Brands with is hindsight because you aren't to know how they will pan out prior to signing.

Impossible, I suggest you deal with it and review our current league position and where we were 18 months ago.

Central midfield was an absolute massive number 1 priority in the summer and the club have done a pretty damn good job with that so now onto the next priority while still trying still to get rid of the deadwood and looking at the youth academy. Without that midfield and maybe even Godfrey we would be not be where we are, by a long shot.
