Managed a struggling Hull City and done quite well with Watford.

I suppose you wanted Allardyce to stay due to his home stats?

It's not all about stats, Silva played good football with both of those teams and I think he was unlucky with Hull. He gave Niasse some confidence and he was banging them in. Kick started his career in the Prem.

I don't care about his win percentage at that level.

I’m happy with this, I’ve always rated him. Time to get behind the man regardless of who we wanted.

On a side game - he’s dead young and handsome now, anyone want to put bets on what month/year he looses his hair and looks broken. Look at Martinez first press conference and then the last. Once Everton has touched you. :p

...on how to screw as much money out of us in as short a time frame as possible. Fat Sam and Koeman have set a high bar!

the best way to get as much money out of us then is to be successful, the more success the more money we will throw at him

lets hope he can sort our aging defence.

if we go in to next season with largely the same back 4 then we will be in real trouble.

I'm hoping that Brands has this in hand tho.

Haha, aww come on guys I’m only messing!

I have never had a problem with your club or your fans - @davek aside perhaps! - and I think we all knew this day was coming once we had disposed of his services, for whatever reasons. Trust me, I’ve been very prepared for the comments once his appointment was confirmed. I’m sure our owners haven’t been ‘jogged on’ as the appointment could have been made weeks ago and it surely aludes to legal conversations having taken place. Who knows what the results of those were - I doubt we’ll ever know until yearly financial reports are disclosed.

You’ve got your man. Do I agree with how you did it? No. But that doesn’t matter to you guys and why should it - the ends justify the means. I was gutted when you first came in for him because I saw the beginnings of something great with him at WFC. But make no mistake, when the team were fighting for him, they managed to paper over the cracks in his tactics which I’m sure would have been ironed out had he stayed committed. But once the players knew he was no longer fighting their corner, it very quickly went wrong and soured to the point where no WFC fan was sad to see him leave. We knew we could have had it great under his tutelage but he went down a path where he could never recover the mistakes made, even if he wanted to. So it’s not sour grapes. I think he’s a good fit for your club. My expectations are that if he can keep his eyes on your club solely, he’ll do well.

I wish you luck for next season for your fans. I hope you do well. But by the same token, I hope you struggle because it would give me great pleasure to see him fail. I don’t say that spitefully against your club, as I’m sure you’d understand you’d feel the same if roles were reversed.

Bowing out now. Have a great summer, enjoy the WC and we await to welcome you and the Snake at VR next season.

Nobody cares about anything you have (or should i say 'had') to say.

At the end of the day he is the best that we could attract.I hope he does well, if he does he moves on to a bigger
job, if he doesn`t he gets a massive pay out .... win win on the manager merry go round

When Watford appointed him last season nobody thought they'd pulled off a massive coup by getting him in, I fact I barely remember anyone batting an eyelid, I think that could be an indication that he's been very lucky getting a job at a club of our stature bar the fact he achieved nothing in the few months he was with them. File me under nonchalant with an open mind for the time being.

Glad he's been confirmed, will get my backing and i sincerely wish him all the best.

Lets get right behind him and Marcel and hopefully get our club back on track and competing with the clubs up top whilst playing something that actually resembles football
