He was way too passive with the media, which didn't help.
It shouldn't matter, and it's hard to get right, but a manager who can't communicate there is making the job twice as hard.

Stuff like subtly letting the fans know what an absolute circus of a boardroom you're working with. Or standing up to bad officiating - managers who cry at the refs all the time just get memed and tuned out. But calling out an absolute [Poor language removed] travesty of a decision needs to be done, and I don't recall him being very good at that.
 

Well done to Fulham, they have to spend well now in the summer to stay up and hope this time Mitrovic brings his Championship form with him

They turned up wanting him to defend himself and he didn't. It's why on his CV he lasts 18 months max at all his jobs.

Bottom line was that he didn't save himself from it after he got a £250mill budget.
