The difference this year is that if Silva screws it up and deserves to go, it will be done with the input of a respected DoF rather than the clown we had here last year.....
youd have to assume that marcel brands can not be happy with what he being made to watch week in week out.

brands is used to watching free flowing football and a great defensive unit at PSV which ended in league titles.. all on a very limited budget wages and transfer fee wise..

here he is watching relegation type football, played with zero organisation and all with a squad of players costing 100's of millions.

he must be pulling his hair out.

He was watching pub football over there. It's like comparing big league baseball with a soft ball league.

At least wait until the games over with all your doom and gloom.

Oh and SHUT UP.

The PL is not much better tbf, other than Spurs, the RS, and City, there are not really any other teams worth watching here, most of the football is pretty dire. The PL is vastly overrated imo

What's basics? Sit deep and play hoofball? Pretty vague term to use as a stick to beat the manager with. At the start when we played well I don't think it was overly complicated, it was high pressing, mixed passing and quick movement really, that's basic enough imo. The players don't have confidence hence why they're playing like crap, they can't even play a two yard pass at times. What part of Silva's current tactics do you think are over complicated and what basic tactics would you implement instead?
What part about "pressing" do you think has anything to do with confidence? It's literally closing down the opposition. That's it. It's about as basic as you can get. And, yet, they stopped doing it almost completely.

And MAYBE instruct your fullbacks to not bomb completely up so that the CB's are exposed every single time?

I could not agree less. Forget about the elete few which is what they are. the PL is a highly contested group of clubs with nearly all playing in near full houses. The business case has been won. The public pay to watch it in their tens of thousands. Clubs sack managers willy nilly to stay in it or get into it. Other European leagues are envious. Even the Championship is the third (or fourth?) best attended league in all of Europe. You could not be more wrong IMO.

Doesn't really answer the question mate. What exactly needs simplified? What's so complicated about Silvas tactics that they need to be simplified before these players begin playing better? It's purely a confidence thing imo. No surprise it's all happened right after the Derby and that goal too.

Edit: I'd say closing down with the aim of winning the ball has a lot to do with confidence and desire. On top of that it requires high fitness levels. No coincidence over that busy period we looked wrecked.
