That’s because we keep getting the appointments wrong. So either we stick with a manager who appears out of his depth, or we put our faith in a chairman and owner who have appointed and subsequently fired their recent awful appointments.. so basically would you rather die via drowning or immolation?

Whilst everyone should crave stability, there’s no stability to be found by retaining a manager just because you don’t want us to be a “sacking” club. At this very moment he’s performing abysmally and is not warranting being here at the start of next season. There’s an argument to be made as well that if he goes and Brands is placed in charge of finding the next manager then perhaps we will finally begin to see some stability.

It's not about dying yet, we're not going to get relegated this season. If there's any guts in Moshiri he'll stick by Silva, if not then back to square 1. And we'll continue being there.

All in all I think it shows how clueless Moshiri is, goes all in for managers like Koeman and Silva and it doesn't lead us anywhere. Therefore I don't think Silva himself is the problem for the future of this club, all about the appointments which is constructed by the higher ups. A mess.

He won the games we expected against the bottom 13 at home. That’ make him superior to any of his sucesssor

But I have not once said he wasn't superior to them?

Still a loser who has won zero in a pretty lengthy career where he was at a club for a large amount of time which is pretty unheard of in the modern game.

Not good enough any more.

How the hell he expect players to understand his instruction with this mumble?

I can’t even figure out what he is upset with.

Leader of men!

By the way some people have that quality, some don’t. I certainly don’t and would be a terrible manager, even for I had a clue l about the technical side of the game!

Only idiots are saying sack Silva, because they have not got a clue who to appoint next. Just sack and see what happens next? Am I glad we have Silva? No but he is here. Is Silva the right man for the job? I do not know, but what I do know is he has the job now and there is no obvious alternative. Ride this lousy season out and see what April/May brings along.
Silva is definitely not up to the job. Let's cut our losses now. No point in persevering with this clown.

That’s not exactly true. For example, we beat Man City in the league right after we went out to Wigan in the FA Cup. Fair enough it was disappointing we lost, but the fact we got a reaction (and always tended to) shows the players were behind the manager.

Also, just because Wigan won that final does not mean we would have. I watched that game and it was an incredibly lucky result. And that was even with Mancini getting sacked before the game!

Kind of my point though. The Wigan game was the big game there. City meant nothing at the time other than a nice win. Man Utd to finish fourth is probably the biggest game he won that had something riding on it. And even that resulted in us somehow getting tonked 5-1 by the 3rd best team in Bucharest a few months later.

I was generally just backing up Sam who I think did a decent job under difficult circumstances and received unnecessary criticism from every angle whilst doing so.

Onto the point you're making... Getting battered every week trying to 'win', if you could call whatever we witnessed today as trying to win, doesn't inspire confidence.

Silva isnt working and should be getting more from these players.

I’d agree to a certain level that getting battered every does not instill confidence.

We were a win away from seventh today. I like to think instead of packing it in and calling it,he rather is trying to have them get themselves out and up.

Look Silva’s lack of motivating and getting the players to believe is something that is just not happening.

I agree he should be getting more from his players.

I’d like to see him make some changes sure I would

I.e. get rid of 4-2-3-1
Use squad players
To name a few.

Today sucked I think we are all fuming I just can’t stand the idea of mentioning Sam and his survival mentality as any sort of answer to the problems we have.

Not sure anyone calling for his sacking can be called an idiot. He's well out of his depth, stubborn, lacking any real direction and doesn't have a clue how to stop the slide, all very worrying signs that were visible when Martinez got the boot.

Certainly not idiotic to be considering getting rid.

If this is a straight choice between Moyes or Silva I will take Moyes. As others point out, even we sack Silva at this stage I am not sure who will come in and deal with this mess.

Benitez and Moyes.

There are more managers out there than those who have managed on Merseyside!

Both are finished as top level managers.

Rudi Garcia is the best of both worlds. Make it happen.
I’m sorry but that is rubbish. Both Moyes and Rafael have qualities that make them very good football managers.

This current trend of people being finished after a bad job or two is ridiculous. If anything both will be better from learning from these experiences.

Good managers only become bad when they lose their motivation to stay in top of current tactics and trends.

Yeah let’s get another young sexy progressive manager like Silva.

The obvious appointment would be Benitez but of course being pig headed as we are that would never happen.
He's a winner and would demand a bit of a work ethic from the players. Been banging this drum since Moyes left. As you say tho. Can't see it happening but desperate times call for desperate measure.
