Marco Silva

Adding up not your strong point then? Or are the Toffos that fecking great they count twice?

I'm not sure what a toffos is buddy. It looks like they've lost their last 3 not their last 4. Hardly a monumental difference and certainly doesn't detract from the point being made, which is with a defeat today there's every chance the Watford board start to reconsider Silva's position, especially considering they are well known to want to chop and change?

I apologise for confusion 3 with 4, I am not entirely sure why the underlying hostility is needed though mate?

We haven't and won't lose our manager have you not seen this mornings developments. As for our ground yes we are a smaller club than you and everything is proportional. However unlike you we have redeveloped our ground. I was at Goodison last week pillars everywhere obstructing the view. Paint peeling off everywhere - completely tatty and something to be ashamed of.

There's lots of things I'm ashamed of about this club, but Goodison????? lol

I'd rather have the life of a packed out Goodison behind a post than sit with a stand to myself in your empty 3 sided ground where most in attendance are neutrals from the home counties who support United. Jog on soft lad.

Their away end is appalling mate. In the same league as Charlton and Portsmouth before they refurbished. One of the few ground you go to and think "christ this makes Goodison look impressive" and thats after their "redevelopment" which could be better defined as essential work to comply with UK Heath and safety laws.

We'll see how it pans out mate.

I liked what he did at Hull, they were buried after being completely under resourced by the Allams after their promotion. The fact he got a tune out of them despite such an awful squad was very impressive. But he's still 'potential' as far as I'm concerned, he could turn out to be a tremendous manager, but equally he could flop, has he got enough gravitas in the game to get hold of our current crop of overpaid and half arsed prima donnas? Not sure myself, I'd rather take a proven man like Benitez personally, despite his RS past, his CV is the best of those who are on the 'gettable' list imo.
That's my concern over Silva (or any new man coming in). It's obvious that the players want Unsworth to stay on and they'll give their all for him. Unfortunately, Unsworth doesn't seem capable, from what I've seen anyway, of being creative with the players we have to sort out a convincing defensive system. That's crucial for a team that's conceded 24 already in the PL alone.

I'v sat in home end before and good grief it was a dire stadium

I called for Silva when we sacked Koeman, think the guy could be good. But in football there is no guaratees... I think the deal is as good as done behind the scenes. Silva refused to commit himself to Watford in a press conference. Pozzos are wealthy but not in terms of PL owners, he is a business man, to bring Silva in for 12 games for free then get £10m is a good return.

The fact Silva hasn`t come out in any media form suggests he does want the move, if he wants to leave I think you will find it happens quickly.

Watford are a smaller club in every aspect, Everton is the next best thing behind the SKY 6, clearly Silva sees us as a progression. All the Watford fans are gutted to the extent of coming on our forum crying their eyes out over it, JUST LIKE THE SOUTHAMPTON FANS WHEN WE TOOK THEIR MANAGER.

Then Stacey (Is this a bird or a guy in the Elton John mould?) starts criticising our stadium, we have given Goodison a bit of a make over but why would you spend too much when we are going to be paying £300m-£400m on a new Stadium on a world heritage site? But you are stuck at Vicarage Road which is appalling. But again I don`t see why that has any place in a Marco Silva thread, what difference does this make to the manager.

We want him, Silva wants to come. This will only end one way, nothing plucky little Watford can do about it........

Yep the second one mate. Basically undermines all the bluster of the first tweet. What are they wanting Silva to "tell them" to make it "interesting".

Compare that to Athletico Madrid's chairman's brush off for when we were linked with Simeone (which wasn't even the most categoric no I've ever seen) and it's miles apart. At no point did they say "We need to talk to Diego Simeone and he needs to tell us he wants to stay/leave".

It's a nonsense. I suspect the only thing that will stop this, is if Everton understandably say they won't pay any more than 10 million. I don't like West Ham much, and can understand why people don't want Moyes to win, but if he rocked up there and turned them over today I think Silva could be booted out very quickly.
They simply want Silva to get them as large a fee as possible (who can blame Watford pushing and pushing after the ridiculous Sigurdsson pursuit?) AND to save them face with their own fans.

The players want unsworth and will give there all??? You not watched any of the 5 games under him? We have been terrible in every one of them if that's there all we are goosed

About Silva - what exactly are his qualifications to manage a club of our stature? I don't know much about him, but from what I've seen he took over an all but doomed Hull last season and improved them a bit but not enough to keep them up, and this seasone's got Watford to a mid table position after 11 games.

As I said, I don't know much about him but if his name was Mark Silver would he be in demand? Likewise, if Roberto Martinez had been Robert Martin we wouldn't have given him a second glance.
