Out of the absolute dross we'e been linked with manager wise ( apart from Simeone which I just don't believe) I'd snap Silva up in a heartbeat. We are currently in the bracket of Allardyce, Dyche, Unsworth or Silva, it's a no brainer.

We may as well give up on expecting our board to go for an elite manager such as a Simeone, Tuchel or Ancelotti as 2 of those 3 are out of work so if we had any grand design of either of them our move would have been made.

So as things stand I'd take Silva if he was willing to leave Watford before the halfway point of a aeason.
How do you know a call wasn't made to Tuchel and Ancelotti's agents? Do you honestly think the board thought, hey two of the top managers in the World are available - let's ignore them. That is simply not realistic. If they don't come, it is more likely they didn't want to than we didn't ask them. Our board are guilty of some things, but to just state tripe like this undermines the real arguments about them.

...wondered if there was anything on the Watford forum, so looked at this;

Surprisingly mixed views on Silva, despite Watford’s good start. Also a few references to Watford’s Chairman being approached after our recent game asking for permission to open talks. That might explain the depreciating odds.

Their fans appear resigned to losing him.

That wouldn't be a bad thing,Dave.When push comes to shove the average supporter is more concerned about the team winning than the behind the scenes game playing of the money men. The interest in the business side of football is something that has come about because of the internet...when the place for talking about football was in the pubs, no one gave a toss about chairmen, directors and shareholders, the talk was about how good the the team was.
All of a sudden everyone is an accountant,lawyer, or a do gooder superhero from the Justice League Of America.
Maybe we should go back to the days when 40,000 went to the game to watch the football,instead of moralising about things most of them know very little about.
In many ways we are slaves to the media.

The only reason why people obsess about those in charge is because these days if an owner makes the wrong move they can crater a club or see it into bankruptcy and extinction.

It's entirely healthy that fans take an interest in who's pulling the levers at their clubs.

He's in the bracket above Big Sam and Dyche, but below Tuchel, Someone, Jardim. He is realistically the best mix of manager we can attract at the minute IMO.
Even if he does jump ship in 18 months it will only because he's done fantastic at us, which can't be a bad thing.

Quite right. Perhaps if we’d all taken more interest during the dying days of Moore’s rule, we could have asked questions if anyone at the club was planning for the future?
Clearly they weren’t.

One way of looking at it, but there is so much media led false information around that the layman supporter cannot seriously have a clue about the reality. Hence rumour becomes fact,and fact becomes fiction depending on each individuals agenda.
