Yes. As I’ve said, widely reported we asked you to step back and you agreed. Even by Joyce from The Times who most of you trust as having some sort of leverage at a Goodison about things. This is being kept alive by peoples opinion on Silva’s demeanour. I understand why that is but I’d be inclined to think the stories in the press over the past 24 are a better yardstick to measure this by right now than Silva’s body language or answers today. Although they weren’t ideal for us, I agree.

Watford are now in this position: accept compo to the tune of about £12M or wait till summer when they'll lose Silva anyway for much less.

So, three outcomes as per usual still in play:

1/ He stays at Watford and leaves in the summer
2/ He's allowed to leave for us with a big compo package
3/ He walks out on Watford and then Watford have a big choice to make on matters

Watford are utterly screwed here. Damned if they do, damned if they dont.

I’m a Watford fan too. And whilst I agree to a point, please double read your post before you hit send or you leave yourself open to ridicule. Especially on an opposing teams forum. Basically loading the gun for them...

It’s interesting watching this thread develop. The last few pages have been playground insults. Reminds me of that Chelsea/Spurs game that descended into chaos when Spurs realised they couldn’t beat Leicester to the title.

God help us all if Silva doesn’t join Everton now. If you think the Watford fans are insufferable now, imagine when we give up and look elsewhere? To be fair, we’d have probably asked for it with all the “he’s definitely coming here; if we want him, we’ll get him” remarks.
