..it really is too early to be gloating.

It is and I rate the bloke as a manager but I was concerned about him coming in in the position we found ourselves. I get people didn’t think we were in or close to being dragged into a relegation fight but I disagreed and given that opinion I wanted somebody who had a proven record of dragging teams out of it .

I think silva could end up doing well but I just couldn’t face that risk , I couldn’t face seeing the club get it wrong . Picking Sam was for me the risk adverse strategy and I’m happy we went in that direction , it’s his chance now to make it more than that at the biggest club side he’ll ever manage .
