Reading Mcnultys twitter feed he seems to be insinuating that Brands is reluctant to sack Silva as the alternative being offered up isn't desirable (ie Moyes)

I'm against the sacking of Silva because we need to build a team. Sacking a manager will set us back a couple of years. The current crop of players aren't good enough. The defending last night was woeful.

From what I gather they don't have anyone lined up. Kenwright is pushing for Moyes, but no one else wants him. It's now a case of keeping Silva, because the alternative isn't any better or giving either Usworth or Moyes the interim job until the Summer.
