I don't think the players would be called to a meeting either if there was a new manager incoming who would be regarded as a promising appointment, as things would take care of themselves in that respect and the new man could talk to them himself.

I wonder if there have been some misgivings from the players about a possible Moyes appointment and Moshiri telling them he is now coming in and feels there has to be a bit of a rallying call before the announcement.

That, or Silva is staying. Just my take.

Would be highly strange if that happened. If he’s turning up I’m guessing he’s getting the sack. A phone call would of be suffice for a vote of confidence.
