Is this current run of form worse than when Koeman and Martinez were sacked?

Genuine question btw, I remember us being complete toilet towards the end of both reigns, but can’t remember just how bad of a run we were on, results-wise.
Both managers lost the support of the players.
A manager can survive the antipathy of the fans but losing the playing staff is always the end.
There is no evidence at the moment that he has lost the players , so he remains relatively secure for now , I imagine.

Of course if we should manage a defeat against WHam then the whole story takes another turn.......

Well Brands was seen on a train coming back from a board meeting in London.
Strange it wasnt in the new big swanky boardroom in the Liver buildings.

From Honest Luke on Twitter mate.
He's a big blue so he must be right.
I read it. But Everton board meetings in London aren't uncommon. The outcome seems to back up what I'm saying rather than what you're claiming will now happen. You've put a spin of "it'll just be because they need the new manager sorted first". It's a huge leap you're making.

As said: it's expensive business chopping and changing, and chances will be offered to get us up the table. Must win the next two, and if so he's up and running again.

Agree, beating WHU will not for me change things, what of the games after that? They are also must wins.
Keeping Silva because we beat west Ham would be just as stupid as sacking him just because we lost to Sheffield United, have to look at the bigger picture, it's not about just 90 minutes in one game.

None of the other managers had it as "easy" as Roberto Silva tho.
Pretty damning all 3 tbh.

I just hope that the Everton board have already decided that he has to go and will pull the trigger as soon as they have someone lined up.

How many more pointers do you need , not one convincing display this season....in fact its been dier.
His track record tells you it wil not get any better .

You want to keep him , but it can do untold more damage if its delayed. I was with you sticking it out with Martinez but that proved pointless.
Silva never is or was the right fit for this club , he' s proving it time and time again.

Got to be done now , if not and we get near Xmas no creditable manager will touch us.
Moyes ,Fat Sam & Mark Hughes will be chomping at the bit.

No .....time is right to do it now.

Appoint poor managers get poor results. Martinez is still the worst. To think he had Lukaku, Barkley, Stones, Deulofeu, a younger Jagielka Baines Coleman. I’m sure there are players in that squad I’m forgetting, that had no business finishing on the points total they did.
Lets get it right Martinez's 1st season was the nearest weve come to winning anything for yonks.
We never really built on that .

Is this current run of form worse than when Koeman and Martinez were sacked?

Genuine question btw, I remember us being complete toilet towards the end of both reigns, but can’t remember just how bad of a run we were on, results-wise.

When looking at just the last 5 games, he's currently doing worse than both of them.

On league games only, Silva (1 win / 4 defeats) is:
  • 1 point better off than Walter Smith was (2 draws / 3 defeats)
  • 1 point worse than Koeman (1 win / 1 draw / 3 defeats)
  • 1 point worse than Martinez (1 win / 1 draw / 3 defeats)

SILVA'S LAST 5 GAMES (W1 D0 L4):
Burnley 1-0 Everton
Everton 1-3 Man City
Shef Weds 0-2 Everton (Caraboa Cup)
Everton 0-2 Shef Utd
Bournemouth 3-1 Everton

SILVA - LEAGUE GAMES ONLY - 3pts (W1 D0 L4):
Burnley 1-0 Everton
Everton 1-3 Man City
Everton 0-2 Shef Utd
Bournemouth 3-1 Everton
Everton 3-2 Wolves

KOEMAN LAST 5 (W0 D2 L3):
Everton 2-5 Arsenal
Everton 1-2 Lyon (Europa League Group Stage)
Brighton 1-1 Everton
Everton 0-1 Burnley
Everton 2-2 Apollon Limassol (Europa League Group Stage)

KOEMAN - LEAGUE GAMES ONLY - 4pts (W1 D1 L3):
Everton 2-5 Arsenal
Brighton 1-1 Everton
Everton 0-1 Burnley
Everton 2-1 Bournemouth
Man Utd 4-0 Everton

MARTINEZ LAST 5 (W1 D0 L4):
Sunderland 3-0 Everton
Leicester 3-1 Everton
Everton 2-1 Bournemouth
Everton 1-2 Man Utd (FA Cup Semi Final)
Liverpool 4-0 Everton

MARTINEZ - LEAGUE GAMES ONLY - 4pts (W1 D1 L3):
Sunderland 3-0 Everton
Leicester 3-1 Everton
Everton 2-1 Bournemouth
Liverpool 4-0 Everton
Everton 1-1 Southampton

And I know he wasn't sacked but Moyes' last 5 for comparison...

MOYES LAST 5 - 7pts (W2 D1 L2):
Chelsea 2-1 Everton
Everton 2-0 West Ham
Liverpool 0-0 Everton
Everton 1-0 Fulham
Sunderland 1-0 Everton

Walter Smith, sacked 2001/02 season...

SMITH LAST 5 (W0 D2 L3):
Middlesbrough 3-0 Everton (FA Cup)
West Ham 1-0 Everton
Everton 0-0 Leeds
Crewe 1-2 Everton (FA Cup Replay following 0-0 draw at Goodison)
Liverpool 1-1 Everton

SMITH - LEAGUE GAMES ONLY - 2pts (W0 D2 L3):
West Ham 1-0 Everton
Everton 0-0 Leeds
Liverpool 1-1 Everton
Everton 0-1 Arsenal
Everton 1-2 Ipswich

8 games this season. Before the season began most people were happy. 8 games go by and we need to rip the club up from top to bottom and start again with a new manager.

Sorry, that is waaaaaaaaay too trigger happy for me.

I'd like to see him be given to end of November, but accept that this carpetbagger is weak enough to be led by the nose by fans and stupid enough to keep on back seat driving even when he's hired another DoF.
