Post season one, he wanted nothing to do with the Youths because his revamp was utterly clueless and universally hated. Under 20's coaches working with the Under 14s once every few weeks? Dreadful idea.

This point will no doubt be argued and be asked for source material to back it up, but it is in fact, shockingly enough for this thread, the truth.

Did he give young players a chance? Yeah and he spoke highly of a few. Never seemed to get a real chance though. Hmm, Ty Browning anyone?

He went back to it again, especially late in his tenure once he was clinging for anything to keep him in a job. Sending out kids as deflection shields at Goodison? Coward.

Yeah but Martinez was a messiah in some peoples eyes.Despite having us finishing closer to the relegation zone than the european places in the past two seasons.Is Koeman the new messiah?Time will tell.What is non negotiable though is the fact that he is a massive improvement and upgrade on the hapless buffoon that he replaced.

6 is closer to 11 than 18.

After his first season, Martinez looked like he was going to be ace. I will now wait at least 2 seasons before ever judging an Everton manager again.

Yup

The problem was some people married themselves to him at that point and when the wheels came off in the second season they rushed to defend him in an almost cultish manner, shouting down any and all criticism no matter how valid

I bet we'll see the same from #TeamRonk if next season is a bit pish too

That's what we do on GOT. We build up idols and then defend those idols to avoid the cardinal sin of being wrong on the internet

This is why @chicoazul always sits on the fence
