Ok, @davek had completed a list for our current manager so let's do one for this biggest fraud in football in Bobby. 3 catagories which reflected their time at the club.

Hopeless
Kone
Alcaraz
Robles
McGeady
Stanek
Deulofeu
Traore
Eto'o
Atsu
Henen
Mattioni
Lennon
Cleverley
Rodriguez
Funes Mori
Foulds
Tarashaj
Niasse

Jury out

Besic
Galloway
Holgate

Hits

McCarthy
Barry
Lukaku

Traore played 2 games, scored once, had one cleared off the line.

Lennon won a player of the month award and has had other things to deal with.

Ged was the greatest player on earth ever according to some.

Robles had a bunch of clean sheets last season did he not?

Mattioni was not a proper signing.

Rodriguez, Foulds, Stanek and Tarashaj are all kids (Rodriguez less so, but he was a punt) which every single manager has.

We made a profit on Cleverley (Somehow..)

Funes Mori is perfectly fine. He is an average top flight centre back.

Atsu was a loan signing, it didnt work out, it happens.

Apart from that you are spot on....

Amazing isn't it?

I actually happen to like how Koeman deals with players he does not fancy but to say it happened under Martinez and to make out that it doesn't happen now is just nuts.

The present manager treated a player like dirt. There's no equivalent I can think of at this club. Sure, players have fallen on an Everton manager's bad side before and put in bad positions, but that Niasse situation was a scandal I'll never forget.

It;s a good job the feller was level headed and good natured about his treatment, because if he'd been another type of player Koeman - and more importantly this club - would have been in a VERY awkward position.

Erm then how do you know we wouldn't have won without him...?
Because we did sweet FA on the day and we had nobody on the bench who could of made the difference. The game ended 3-1 and Naismith scored a hattrick, take away his participation in the match and I think it's safe to say we lose or at best draw. Like we did in 13 other league games played at Goodison that season. While I can't guarantee that, it's a pretty safe bet.

No its a ridiculous assumption to make. He came on for Besic after 10 minutes or so didn't he?

Ok, @davek had completed a list for our current manager so let's do one for this biggest fraud in football in Bobby. 3 catagories which reflected their time at the club.

Hopeless
Kone (6m)
Alcaraz (free)
Robles 3.4m
McGeady 1.7m
Stanek U21 cheap punt
Deulofeu 5.1m- talented and sold for double
Traore- loan
Eto'o- Free
Atsu Loan
Henen 238k and still plays for our U23s
Mattioni- free and shared an agent with Lukaku (obviously a favor)
Lennon- 5.1m, still useful squad player (Koeman hasn't bombed him out which he wouldn't be afraid to do)
Cleverley- Free and sold for 7.9m
Rodriguez- 600k youth signing
Funes Mori- 11m ( still capable PL defender) , Could easily sell for profit abroad
Foulds- 17 year old youth signing, likely 200k ish
Tarashaj- 3.4m highly rated at the time. I'll count this as a decent miss though
Niasse- 15m - This is the one big miss.

Jury out

Besic 4m and still in Koeman's plans
Galloway nominal fee at 18, will be a prem player at some level
Holgate 1.19m, solid for his age

Hits

McCarthy 13m, could be sold for 15m +
Barry free
Lukaku 28m, sold for 75-90m
provided some context. Most of his misses were cheap punts, some decent low level signings, Big miss on Naisse but other than went he spent decent money (Mcarthy, Lukaku) they were good signings. His main problem was losing the dressing room, more so than the market

Yeah, shame Martinez drummed two football geniuses like Naismith and Garbutt out of the club. We could do with them now.

Back off your Hols eh Dave, fully refreshed, wham and wum batteries fully charged up and raring to go for the new season

Garbutt didn't get The Bobby Cold Shoulder for being gash, he got it for ill advised press statements that showed your man in a bad light...but you knew that.

and yes we could do with the Hat trick Vs Chelsea Naismith and the Garbutt as he potentially was then - the Baines heir apparent, he'd be no worse than the back up we have now. Maybe better if he had stayed and had a run in the team...but you also knew that too didn't you.

Hook, line, and sinker yet again.

His bait is irresistible for the fishies.

“He will lie, sir, with such volubility, that you would think truth were a fool.” William Shakespeare, All’s Well That Ends Well.

Doesn't mean you have to give him a free ride on it, so I sample the bait, the odd time I will swallow it, because he does make the occasional good point...but mostly I spit it right back at him.

Which is just as it should be, even if he is GOT's own personal, by appointment; 'Click-Baiter General'
If we didn't have Dave we'd have to Invent him...and between you and me, I think we did.

I think if everyone treated him as a contrarian cartoon they'd get the entertainment value better.

That said if he decided to do this in the Trump thread I have no doubt I would bite. Finners had me on his reel last fall for sure.

For some reason with regards to Everton stuff I can see through it and actually see the subtle humor that is frequently missed in his posts.

It's not a ridiculous assumption to make at all. Obviously neither of us can know 100% that we'd not of won that game againt Chelsea but considering that we only won four other home league games under Martinez that season it's a fairly safe assumption to make.

It is!

Considering we won the game handily its a much safer assumption to say that the team as a whole played well and probably would have done so regardless.

You are acting like if Naismith didn't play that we would not have been allowed to play anyone else.

Who said we wouldn't of been allowed to play anyone else?! I certainly didn't. Im only pointing out that we didn't exactly play well that day and were it not for Naismith and an inspired individual performance I think it's a safe bet to say we'd not of won. In any event were off topic, so it's probably best to leave it now.
