Yeah, you wouldn't want a clown coming in to a PL club and getting them their best ever performances for a generation and their best ever points totals, or getting them to SFs of cups.

I'd be alright with it. He'd almost certainly relegate said club if he was given the time to do so or at the very least set them back years in the name of his vanity project.

I'm sure all the PL clubs will be running a mile from that option, because it comes with the possibility of finishing safely in midtable too..

Yeah about that, without purple patches in both 14-15 and 15-16 we would of been in relegation battles. All PL clubs would run a mile because nobody wants to have their worst home win record shattered like El Frudo did for us. Never forget: 12 wins out of 37. I really think that word 'charlatan" sounds empty in relation to a manager who gave us our best PL season in the short period of time he was here...especially when we just had a so called "superior" manager just thrown out of the door for plummeting us into the relegation zone and leaving us in a mess having spent £200M.

Who would give Martinez a job in the PL? Outside the top 6 he'd have his suitors. He'll be beating them off if Belgium have a decent WC.

Koeman wasn't a charlatan though. Just a very incompetent manager who people saw through when he deserved it. He didn't fool people while achieving nothing and convince them he was the second coming like Martinez did. If the best thing you can say avout Martinez is that he isn't Koeman then lol. Martinez have us nothing other then a slight improvement on Moyes final season just as Koeman improved us in his first season to Martinez final season. Both were and are crap yet both will no doubt find work.

I hope your right mate, I really do. Whoever he takes over is a guaranteed six points for us.

Martinez's downfall at Everton was of his own making and his own doing.We did "achieve" (please note the inverted commas) more with Martinez.But Koeman got screwed over by Steve Walsh failing to get a replacement for Lukaku, signed in time for the August deadline.If we signed that replacement.Then things could have been different for Koeman.He did do a pretty impressive job, cleaning up Martinez's mess in his first season.

I don't know mate but certainly not Martinez because he would not have Kompany and Vertonghen etc to do defending for him. If one does not value defending and clean sheet he will struggle in PL.

He could of relgated us twice in a row and you'd still be waxing lryics about the "phenomenal" football we played. He had his view on how football should be played which he prioritised over the wellbeing of this club.

Koeman's improvement and non-achievement in his first season was just as worthless as Martinez and both of them only "achieved" what they did because of what the previous manager left. Again Dave, if your trying to defend Martinez through Koeman you really shouldn't bother. Both are utterly terrible managers, it's just that Martinez seems to always get a lot more leeway from some of our fans then Koeman despite being just as bad (If not worse) and despite the fact that he dripped insincerity.

The difference is something goes wrong Koeman was sacked immediately. But for Martinez he was sacked 18 months late at least due to bk was fully in charge back then.
