We've won 4/5 games and conceded 1 goal in that period. I've been in the Martinez out camp before but now he's actually dropped Howard and paid some attention to our defence it would be stupid to sack him.

Right. Tried reading the main thread. Far too much angst and bellwhiffery for my refined taste.

So I got to thinking how old the drama queens were. Is there an age link to the cockwombling and melodramatic fume. Are the twenty something's the main breeding ground for the bobby boo boys? Is it the grumpy arl arses?
Time to find out.

So, horror of horrors, I decided a poll was required. Yes, I know, hahaha, me and polls, etc etc.

I'm under 30 and happy to give the manage praise when he does well rather than just stick to my one opinion.

I voted out. I did so because he won't be going anywhere until the end of the season, if then. At the moment I am of the opinion that he has been in post long enough to have made the team his own. I do not believe the squad he has should be in the bottom half of the league. I think he is technically inept.
However there are 12 league games to go, win 7/8 and get a cup run and he can prove himself worthy of being Everton manager. I want to be convinced.

I'm currently in the "out" camp. I was against his appointment when Moyes left, but completely reversed my opinion about 15 games into the first season. I started having concerns again around October of the second season and by the time the January transfer window arrived in the second season I was calling for his head.

Martinez has been serving up too many guff results for the best part of two seasons now. First season Martinez was excellent, and I'd happily have him back... he's got to get a proper run of good results together to convince me that he's stopped the general downward trend that has been evident since the start of last season. Five games isn't enough evidence to overturn the last 18 months, but he's still got the rest of this season. If he gets us a top-eight finish AND either wins the FA cup or wins the derby then I'd be changing my mind. Fingers crossed he can do it, because I loved first season Martinez.

if there's a decent alternative available I would like us sack Bobby and hire him/her in the summer; IF we finish below 7th and we don't get to a cup final.

Don't see how my age comes into it in the slightest.

I don't get the 'I want him out, but if we manage x,y and z this season I'll change my mind'.

Why not wait until the end of the season before calling for his head
It's an assessment based on "what I feel right now based on his total work to date", followed by "what I predict I will feel if things change over the remainder of the season".

Good poll, T.

I may be old, but I'm a much bigger cockwomble that I was in my misspent youth. Experience is not overrated. I'm like the Gar Bar of cockwomble.

I want him to stay and my dad wants rid. Usually ends up in a disagreement on match day.

Funny thing is, like some on here he blames Martinez for players make mistakes.
