Now we have 3 in form CBs, I think it backs up the view quite a few of us had last season and early this, he's not quite ready.
A loan would be good. I think a permanent move to someone like Bournemouth would be ideal for him.
If he was Joe Gomez level then keep him around but personally I just don't see it.

He shouldn't be playing here. If someone else in the Premier League wants to give him the experience that's great and he should definitely take the chance to work on his game. Maybe it'll be the first step in him raising his level to the standard we seem to be setting now.

He will be a very solid PL defender, but he won’t be if we don’t give him the minutes he deserves.
As it goes we’ve got Mina, Zouma and Keane ahead of him, and worryingly Jagielka (Jagielka has came on recently, right?).
Get him to a lower league team, Huddersfield, Palace, Cardiff etc... get him game time, get him ready to come back and we’re laughing.

..if we have an unused sellable asset then it makes sense to sell if a club can meet our valuation. If we have an unused asset that we can’t sell, then a loan makes sense.

His last appearance was the West Ham game and he was a mess. He really doesn't deserve any more minutes because he played every game to start the year and the defense has improved from basically the first game where he wasn't used anymore. It isn't entirely his fault but he's a level below the three main CBs and I'd personally rather have Jags play as long as someone with pace is next to him.
I also wouldn't be so sure that a loan will improve him that significantly. This is going to sound harsh but I'm not sure he really does anything at a Premier League level aside from being a bit quick. The lad will be playing football for a long time but I don't know that it will always be top flight.

Personally? I think you’re a bit hard on the lad there.
I know he was getting game time, but look how much Michael Keane transformed. There’s a player in Holgate, and I’d really like to retain his services.

Probably for the best. He's gone very quickly from being our first choice CB to being 5th choice! Give him 6 months playing regular first team football as we'll need him in the squad early next pre season with Jagielka leaving and Zouma loan expiring.
