Imagine him going to brighton and Potter making him class ?
Meh, for me hes not a bad player, its a cliche but a change of scene might be good for the lad, currently hes more interested in arguing with his team mates and the fans, think hes got himself into a rut here and whilst hes not gonna be an elite player, think hes better than hes shown recently.

He's a good player. Fans have got on his back because he's not perfect (as is our want). He'll go well elsewhere, pretty sure of that.

I think we have had about 10 players who had potential, but really lost out due to our lack of direction, coaching and consistency behind the scenes. It's fair enough if some players need more mentoring, coaching or support, and I think Holgate is one of them. With a really solid senior defender as partner, or an excellent coach, or a vocal captain, supportive manager (someone who taught him how to be cooler) and maybe even the type of help Pickford has just had with his psychologist - all would have helped hugely, and one or a combination of all of those might have helped us hold on to or improve players like Vlasic, Lookman, Davies, Dowell, Kenny, Barkley, even maybe Beni, and now we have to be careful with Dobbin, Simms and the other crop...

I know I know not all of the above can make it as first teamers, some of them were just mediocre or not physically strong enough, but there's a long-term wider impact of our crappy years , that a lot of young players may have been lost to us. And I really hope the restructuring addresses this, because we need to see a better impact of young players either being sold for good fees or making it to our team.

Yeah spot on, we have been a club with no direction, lurching from manager to manager, crisis to crisis, farce of a club.

Be a good move for him and Brighton, he can play as part of a three and can cover at Full Back.

Anything north of 15 mill would be a good deal.

Did Moyes sign him or was it Boberto?

I feel like he could be Jonny Evans - Dunk - Duffy in the future - even Stubbs, Weir, Distin - decent players at PL level who never made headlines or made big waves at international level.

I think he's probably had his time at Everton now, but there's a good player in there somewhere.

For me, he's a better centre-back than Godfrey and has more ability than Keane, but he's let himself down badly when given chances recently.
