Good performance, header aside. Hope he learns from the mistake and starts from now on whether it be at RB or RWB until Colemans return.

I'm very okay with that, but Holgate didn't really hurt his RB claim today. He played some good football and showed some confidence going forward. He works on that part of his game and he can be quite the player.

It's such a shame he can't play in a 2 at centre half. He has the pace we so desperately lack (Keane apart) centrally at the back.

Really good to see him getting plenty of support on here after his error tonight.

He's a good defender. Personally I see no reason why there can't be some games where he does play centrally in a back 4. We don't play Palace, Stoke and Albion every week. There are many games we will dominate and should be able to play a high line. We can do that with Keane and Holgate.

Anyway had a very good game tonight. I'm sure the experienced guys will be telling him that and won't let the goal get to him.

Agree fully. Absolutely could handle being a CB in a 4

He's no Coleman, but think he can be effective going forward tbh. That little flick to send DCL through for Rooney's goal was class.
