It's right on this occasion though.

Laughing at the way that backs to the wall, park the bus performance has been sold as tactical wizardry undoiong the Gallic foe.

It was just one team whio can play football held off by one who cant. We see it every week in the PL.

Against Sweden and the Ukraine they'll have to come out and show what they can do. They'll be very tight games. Personally I dont see England progressing from the group. That Ukranian result last night was a nightmare for England.

how is it right? A draw is a good result. England aren't a great team and the only way they're going to get anywhere in this tournament is playing ugly football. They should be capable of going out and beating Ukraine and Sweden and that'll show how good a job Roy's doing but so far so good as far as i'm concerned

Oh well, the morning after the night before. I am not uinderwhelmed by that performance as it was pretty much what I expected. We played far too defensively and we look awful in possession.

I am not using the 'but with that squad' excuse because for me they still are all premiership players on a good wedge and should be able to knock it about better than that. If it was DM I would be slating his tactics and game plan, so Roy sort it out thats not good enough FFS.

I love England i think the style of football sucks and a lot of them are primadonna's but you know what yes I do cheer if Steve.G. plays a good pass so what he's playing for England not Liverpool there is a difference. Quite a big fooking difference too. That is all.

I think this quote is more accurate (sort of sadly) rather than any Kopite comparisons...
England sitting back, defending & scoring from set pieces. Amusing to see England become the Stoke of International Football.

Everton pre January is the best description I've seen so far. They were alright, just lacking a bit of flair and a finish.

Was watching some Euro 96 highlights the other day, they're badly missing a McManaman (dare I say it another kopite but a good player and an Evertonian!)

McManaman earned a lot of points for me in the way he took the RS for fools when leaving. That was hilarious.

We're missing a Rooney if you ask me. Gerrard was sitting so deep that Young needed to the creative hub and Diarra just marked him out of the game. Rooney in there would do much better.

does anybody else agree that Milner is really bad on the right?

Yep, should have gone for Walcott there. I know he was meant to help Johnson contain Ribery but he offered us nothing at all going forward.

If you want Milner, better to play him alongside Parker and sack off Gerrard (who to be fair, had a half decent game as a deep lying midfielder but it's not his position and he's not just a massive tit but also past it, frankly) .

Yeah he's a centre mid player. I find it astonishing that when you have the entire quota of English players to pick from barring those injured that players are out of position.

Little unfair because Mancini plays Milner as a winger and thats where he played at Newcastle, but, yeah, the best I've ever seen him play was under O'Neill at Villa where he was in the middle.

Thought England were well organised, kept their shape well, defended a little deep for my liking though and Young & Welbeck were too isolated as a result.
