Transfer Rumour Maximillian James Aarons

So was Leighton, so is Digne.
Lucas is actually 5'10. No bull there.

And I don't even mind so much if the guy is Baines going forward.

I'm doing stats in my other posts so I checked and that fbref sight says he's 95th percentile for % of aerial duels among fullbacks. He's a surprisingly good player in the air.

Is there a compelling reason that an "attacking" fullback is producing next to nothing in attack? Because I'm inclined to believe the stats to an extent unless there is an actual reason why I shouldn't be.
He created seven "Big Chances" in the Premier League last season, which put him seventh among defenders. Lucas Digne made eight and Norwich's creative maestro Emiliano Buendia made nine.

Maybe there are but the only stats presented so far are goals/assists. If you find chances per 90 or possession won (?) or something maybe but still, just watch someone over 90 mins several times and make your mind up. Half the players I love have terrible stats.
They play v Brentford, 5.30 Wednesday, yes I know they play Sunday at 12, but I ain't watching that.

I will scout him Wednesday and next Saturday at 3pm.

You will have my scouting report Saturday night.

The sight I'm looking at has all sorts of stuff (for the PL only, so last season) and the only thing they've got him as being elite at is blocking shots and some dribbling stuff but that is all offset by his success rate on dribbles being poor.

I get it, you have to scout a player in addition to the numbers but until I get a chance to watch Norwich again all I can say is I'm not impressed by the numbers. And fwiw I really only care about the attacking stats, for me defending is not captured in stats as well as something like putting a lot of tackles in can actually be bad defense if it is because you're getting caught out and recovering a lot.

Would rather we keep our powder dry and see where we finish in the table before lining up targets - a top 4/6 finish could open the door up for some top players to want in on a move to the mighty Blues.

I've checked the schedule and I'm not sure when the next time I'll get to watch them is. 7am Sunday is right out and the rest aren't available.

Didn’t think Bayern’s interest would wane, but did question it. They’ve got Benjamin Pavard who’s an excellent right back and would mean Aarons is back up. €35m for a club who love a bargain and developing is a lot for a backup.

Still can’t see where United get interest from? AWB, Dalot are there and they need to strengthen elsewhere. It’s been COVID, and they’ve been hit worse than any other club.

Afe they really spending £30 on a right back?

wouldn’t shock me if other teams come in, but a really really good improvement if we get him in.

Godfrey being mates could be a huge factor in pulling him in.
It’s paper talk. There is no way United are spending 30m for a player to challenge AWB.

Not arsed.

Watch him in a few matches, get back to me.

He has 3 assists on transfermarkt and 0 on fbref. I don't really feel like digging and trying to figure out what is going on there.

I will say that number isn't as impressive as he's making it out. It boils down to .12 per 90 in the championship. Which is about what Sidibe generated for us last year in the PL and a fair bit away from what Digne is doing now.
