i can't see a good reason not to play him when he is in form like this.

We just can't afford to bench AJ or the yak. He will get time in January to start.

i don't see how moyes can look at macca in the form he is in now (3 goals in 3 games) and say erm... january son. be patient.

i admit that aj is better than macca but on current form you have to start your strikers who are scoring.

Maybe it would do AJ good to have a rest and get whatever injury problems he has fully behind him. We're in a position now where he doesn't have to carry the entire goal scoring burden.

Did anyone see McFadden's goal against France what a belter easy 35 yards+ I'll agree with Teppic now I thought AJ would be integral too us against Utd but can we really ignore McFadden in such good form?

in fairness i love AJ... think he is awesome... and in an ideal world i would say play all 3 strikers... but against man utd i think we would just get stripped at the back !!!

i think Mac and AJ then Yak 2nd half.. depending on who is looking the brighter...

Yak in fairness hasnt done anything for us yet, yes he scored... but the other 2 have put much much more into the games !!

I dont think McFadden will start and I dont know if I'd take off Yak or AJ for him. AJ is our main strategy in attacking, hopefully McFadden will get a chance to come off the bench.

I would continue with Yak and AJ, to let them further develope their understanding of each other. Both offer something different and will give us a greater variety of weapons againt United. I would however put McF on if one of them is not really up for it.

I think Great Dane's right. AJ and Yak performed well together in OUR last match and I think Moyes will stick with this partnership, ignoring international performances. Also think McFadden's goals for Scotland will bring interest from north of the border come the end of the season (possibley even Jan, but doubt we'd sell due to ANC), which might be best for all parties. The guy's got undoubted talent, but not consistent enough for me.

perhaps utd isnt the right game, but i believe it may b time to give jimmy an extended run starting upfront. i know many ppl say hes had chances and hes been inconsistent and never made good on his talent, but many players dont start to perform consistently til their early mid-twenties... we could be seeing the start of mcfadden finally livin up to the hype and producing on a regular basis... aj hasnt scored for us in a while, and has not done so at all for the national team, whereas mcf has been doin both of late. i think he should be given the chance to do so for us full time.

I'm up in Glasgow this week and it's been great today to see one of our players lauded all over the front and back pages as the hero of a nation (doesn't happen very often does it?!). Would love to see him fulfil his potential with us, just don't think it'll happen. Prove me wrong on Saturday Jimmy!
