I won’t support Benitez but I will support my team. But that isnt the point here. ‘Achieving’ mid table as you lauded it is what my objection was to. The dumbing down of expectations.

Gray and Townsend have so far exceeded expectations but its early days and there will be dips in the road in terms of form with this squad of players especially when we lose 1-2 as they often find it difficult to mentally get out of a slump.

With how competitive the PL is and our lack of strengthening in the market I still maintain 8th-10th would be a decent season and 11th-12th wouldn't be a cause for meltdown based on it being the managers 1st season and having little backing in the market.

7th is likely our glass ceiling and would be a massive achievement.
