I like esk a lot and his koeman shout won me a lot of dosh. But either his info on this is guesswork, from differing sources or just from bad sources, or the club's transfer strategy is worryingly spontaneous. I sincerely hope it's not the latter.

Hopefully it's because of other signings in the pipeline.

To me this has the appearance of us needing to shed wages to sign. Delofeu sold = Depay bought, Delofeu loaned = Depay loan. This issue being no-one seems prepared to buy Del and Man Utd are not willing to loan Depay.

I read last week and it may well be wrong. That Barca have a 2yr buy back option on Geri. So we can only loan him out in this window.

Esk seeming confident doesn't mean we will sign the players in question. He was confident about witsel, carvalho and many more.

To be fair he did say, if Deulofeu goes to Milan we will go for Depay. Or words to that effect. Well Deulofeu hasn't gone to Milan.

He's the complete opposite to what we need in that position, so if he is off to Lyon then that's good. Anyway, we're going to sign Dries Mertens according to some man from the internet.

He mentioned that Deulofeu leaving as being another sign of Memphis joining, but said many times it was going to be completed.
