Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good afternoon @messymascot I was laughing for pages while catching up to this thread until I read your post about being back at the hospital :( but I’m glad that today you are having a better day and are back to your grumpy self. And there is reason to be grumpy after hearing that Mina still is out, we could have really use him for tomorrow’s match and Colombia could use him against Brazil on Thursday. Anyway, tomorrow’s match is a challenge that we really need to overcome otherwise it is going to get ugly at Goodison. Since you won’t be able to watch the match I definitely will give you updates here but don’t have high expectations of my posts as sometimes I like commenting on how cute a player looks  lol
Good job Gomes and Dom are both out then as we wouldn't get any football commentary at all lol

Happy Saturday to everyone else too! Let’s hope the conversation today is more friendly on the belly than yesterday’s food discussion.

@Barnfred 55 and @larbert toffee don’t dare me with a salsa dance as this Colombian loves shaking it ? And Fred I love you but your dad’s lambs heart stuffed with sage and onion doesn’t sound as appealing as your Nan’s cheese and onion toast. But I’m all about diversity so I won’t stop you from posting it on the recipe thread lol

Don't let us stop you Sass. Feel free to shake it away, whatever it is. lol

I don't actually cook the stuffed hearts myself. It was just reminiscing to my younger days when our parents had to make ends meet and the sorts of food that were being plated up to us. But I really think it was just a case of mixing Paxo sage and onion stuffing, filling up the lambs heart cavity and slinging into a hot oven.

Hi Sassy, a lot of us on here had Grandparent's who got by during WW2 eating anything and everything minimising waste hence their ingenuity with offal and acquired a liking for the stuff, this was passed on to me as a kid.
I could go round to my Nan's and there was always a pot of something on the go but that could be scouse, pigs trotters, bolognese or tripe ?.
Admittedly apart from haggis I haven't had much offal over the last few years but I'd still be happy enough to have a plateful for old times sake.
Do Colombians have any offal meals?

I’m sure during WW2 eating any meat, even if it was the brains of an animal, must have felt fortunate so I totally understand why people made use of the whole animal, as it should be. In Colombia there was not need for WW2, my people have always enjoyed offal meals lol I grew up eating cow liver and chicken feet, although I don’t longer consume the feet every so often I buy some local liver and my mum prepares it for us, that’s as far as I go for offal meals now days.
