Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I bet you have, I'm a bit late to this post lol

It seems Cal like to like her chili the way it is traditionally served in Cincinnati a city in the US known for serving it that way. Did she also add cheese on top?
Of course. Parmesan.

A pan of chilli would do us 2 meals, and I liked to make sure that there was always enough for the second night. Cal would always say, have as much as you want, I'll only have a spoonful over my spaghetti, then proceed to practically empty the pan. lol. Got me every time.

Chilli, scouse, curry always need a day or two to mature

Ah a variant on The old “I don’t want chips you order some for yourself if you want” routine, then proceed to eat 3/4 of yours . I’ve certainly been caught out on that one a few times over the years . I a hope to carry out formal research over the years I've even regularly changed on of the core components but the outcome remains the same .

Always Good to see you posting mate .

Here in the US it’s usually cheddar cheese.

Lol, it seems Cal and I have another thing in common (in addition to pursuing the husband we wanted) we are also good at devouring the food needed to satiate us regardless of our hubbies ;) lol

Good evening @messymascot I have to chime in like others have already done and say that I have been missing you a lot! But I also noticed that you logged in early this morning and that calm my heart a bit. We are thinking about you, rooting for you and hopeful you can return to chat with us about football, cricket, anything even about soup and fish sandwiches lol

Sending a warm hug your way ?

@messymascot

Mate this needs explaining! WTF is that all about lol

Hope you're feeling good today mate, thoughts and prayers your way

Well, Messy ate a fish finger sandwich the other day, which then triggered loads of fish puns on here. The day before he'd eaten a chicken sandwich, which triggered a load of chicken puns.

I won't even mention the discussion on offal. Not for the squeamish, and not a lot of scope for puns.

We're a simple bunch really, aren't we?

That's better than what was running through my head, fishfinger sandwiches are amazing! I usually put a little bit of hot chilli sauce on mine, although since watching 'Seaspiracy' I've not eaten fish.

I haven't watched that program yet but I'm aware of it and what it involves. The worldwide fishing industry in general is a disgrace but it doesn't have to be that way. Down here in Cornwall it is very sustainable with lots of line fishing for bass and mackerel and Oyster fishing is only allowed under oar and sail. Google sustainable fishing Cornwall and you'll see lots on the subject. So if you do like your fish I'm sure there's some way that you can obtain Cornish fish. Post Brexit the fisherman are finding new ways of selling direct to the public.

I simply can’t understand why this is true but it really is isn’t it ?
Couldn't agree more mate. always tastes better the next day. ;) ;)
Travelling back from a game one Sunday (Armagh GAA) we stopped off for food about half way home in a wee roadside pub in Leitrim. There was what I can only describe as a caldron over a roaring fire and low and behold our stew was dished out of it free of charge. No menu in the place, real boozer with free stew.

It was gorgeous and with chatting to the regulars we learned they made stew twice a week. One pot on the fire Mon/Tue/Wed, the other Thur/Fri/Sat and hopefully into Sunday ?

@messymascot Will Keane made his senior debut for Ireland tonight against Portugal.

Michael was always the big Irish hope at underage before he was radicalised to declare for England,

Can’t be too many twins representing different countries.
Rooneys brother John declared for Ireland too but don't know if. he ever got a cap. I can beat the twins one too Armagh.,and both of them Irish too. Irelands very own Declan Rice and Jack Grealish must both have identical twins cause Ive seen their twins play for England recently . Obviously they mustnt have been good enough to play for Ireland like their brothers.
