Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I’ve been a slack forummer in recent months but it’s nice to see another lovely thread spring up like this.

My best mate is a ginger so I feel qualified to post. Hope everyone is feeling as well as can be, @messymascot in particular of course.

I’ve had Chrimbo songs on all day because I refuse to wait a minute longer. Shame about the footy but looking forward to the boxing when it’s over.

You are right, Fred. One of the hardest aspects for my ma has been the guilt of not being able to be in Colombia offering support to her grandkids (my nephews). With the death of Nana she is also coming to the realization that her generation is arriving to that age when some of them begin departing from this world and that's terrifying to her. My mom has always had a great fear of death :(
Sad news, but I know you'll come out the otherside, you've helped people on here and we will help you, if only indirectly.

Maybe, or as this lovely short video suggests, maybe not.

Love the video thanks ,we have a zoo on an island here and on the way -it is pedestrian only -you walk through woods and there the squirrels come to you and climb up your leg to sit on your head and the tits eat peanuts from your hand .A brilliant feeling as I love birds so much .

Morning Messy ,so sad to hear things are hard for you at the moment .If anyone can face this it is you ,you have already inspired a thread that gives many people so much pleasure and given memories we will all treasure for ever .
I can do no more than wish the very best and the utmost strength as you need it and hope you give us the highlight of our day by posting once again .
You have given me and many others a haven on this site away from the bickering and repeated insults on most of the rest of the forum for that we are eternally grateful .
Stay strong Messy we need you .

Beautifully put and totally sums up this thread for me

Morning Messy and everyone.
I sincerely hope that today is a better one for you fella.
My tip for the day is to avoid the football match kicking off at 2pm.
Watched McCartney at the BBC and the Cavern last night , some good stuff and memories.
Just having a cup of tea now and catching up on Match of the Day.
Such a lovely day that the dogs are going to get a really long walk today.

Most people, myself included, lose touch with our connection to nature. So much wildlife is curious to interact with us, once they feel confident we're not a threat to them.

You mentioning squirrels reminded me of when a red squirrel sat right next to me on Hampstead Heath many years ago. It's a shame they're now endangered in the UK, due to the grey squirrel.

I recently watched My Octopus Teacher on Netflix, a documentary film about a diver who befriends an octopus. It's a really good film and very touching.

Morning everyone,

@messymascot so sorry to hear that you've had such tough days lately. I hope that knowing how inspirational you are to us all, and how much we admire you, gives you some crumbs of comfort for what you're having to go through.

@Barnfred 55 how are you doing today mate?

I'm currently steeling myself for the footy later. Not feeling at all confident.
