Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good afternoon everybody. Hello @messymascot Hope to hear from you today.
Your walk sounds lovely @Barnfred 55 . It is a long held ambition of mine to retire to somewhere near the sea. That might be as easy as going back to Liverpool! There's some beautiful places along the North East Coast. Not much to report today Quite a productive work day. Meeting a friend for lunch on Wednesday. He was on a cruise with his partner and some other friends but had to fly home because his 96 year old Mum had a fall and is in hospital. He's an only child and Mum was upset and asking for him. She's damaged her back in the fall and seems very confused as a result of the fall. Not quite as good as a Med cruise but a pub lunch featuring chips might cheer him up.

Morning mate. Morning Messy. Hope you had a decent night and are up to posting today. Morning everybody else.

Keeping busy with cooking this week. Made a curry on Saturday. A proper one from scratch using a recipe that we normally use with lamb, but I couldn't get any lamb so used pork. It didn't work out very well because the pork was a bit tough. Not sure if it was the wrong cut of pork for stewing, or whether I overcooked it or undercooked it. The taste was spot on (really hot to my taste), just the texture. Anyway, I have seconds for tea tonight and I've also frozen a portion. Later in the week I'm doing Cal's beef stew with red wine which i'll share the recipe for in Sassy's thread.

Neighbours have just knocked on the door with some meatballs in sauce she made yesterday, so that's tomorrow nights tea sorted. They're taking the dogs for a walk this afternoon and asked if i wanted to come along. It's another beautiful day down here and they're walking down to Maenporth Beach, which is a lovely wooded valley walk, so that's my afternoon sorted. The husband is taking me into Falmouth to get my hair cut tomorrow afternoon, and on Wednesday we're all going to get our booster jabs in the morning and then go for a spot of lunch. So a busy week for a change. Don't know how i'll manage. lol
My concerns last month that you make sure to eat properly look more foolish by the day. You're becoming quite the chef Fred. With you and Sassy both posting regularly about all the lovely food you're cooking, it's no wonder I often feel hungry after reading this thread (offal excluded :)). In fact, I had to grab some lunch after reading this post earlier.

You're so lucky to have such fantastic neighbours. You and Cal must have been really kind to them in the past to receive such kindness in return. Wish we had neighbours like that.

One of our next door neighbours is a bit weird. We saw him peeing in his garden recently. Apparently, he was marking his territory for the foxes, as the scent of male pee is supposed to warn them off, but he was a bit too literal with his distribution method.

Next doors cat often poos in our back garden. It's owner said he's only marking his territory. Next time I catch it I'm going to piss all over him, and when my neighbour asks why I pissed all over his cat I'll just show him your post. ;)

I must admit , our cats have done their fair share of dishing out the poo over the years. We do have a stranger cat who keeps wandering into the garden , I scoot him off but Mrs blueloon is not happy when I do. I like the “pissing over strange cats” idea , and very justifiable , if I‘ve read all the posts right, you’re stopping them being eaten by a fox ;)

Fred, Im thinking this is not the same neighbours that bring you food, otherwise you would be risking those meatballs in sauce ;)

Ha ha. TBH we're good mates now. It's very funny too, especially when it puts its face to the back patio door on these dark nights. Scares the #### out of me.?

Have you been pooing in Fred's garden again?
