Afternoon all. Quite a nice day so far, sunny intervals and the humidity of the last few days has gone. Had a text to say GP needs to discuss blood test results, so rang the surgery. After negotiating the press 1 for this 2for that menu eventually spoke to receptionist to be informed they no longer do appointments over the phone. You have to go via something called Engage-Consult on their website. If you don’t have the internet you can go to the surgery to book but won’t be seen that day, so that means another journey. Up until recently our surgery operated a system where you could turn up between 9.00 and 10.30 and you would be seen, it could mean a long wait but you got to see someone, now it seems everything is done via the web. I don’t know what the elderly are supposed to do if they have no internet or anyone to help.Then just had email saying our landline is being discontinued, not to worry as just plug phone in back of hub. Again what do you do if you don’t have broadband or mobile phone, one of our neighbours has neither. I’m beginning to realise how the dinosaurs felt. Aaaaaand breathe, rant over.
